February 19, 20233 yr I am hoping to purchase one of these two for my shorter hop flights. I have read some reviews but it seems to be a real mixed bag. So I thought I would reach out to you folks that have both and can give me your recommendations. Virtualcol FS - EMB 170/175 Series or Aerosoft Aircraft CRJ Bundle. Thoughts? February 19, 20233 yr Aerosoft crj without question. Btw. Erj is actually known as the erj-145. The e170 and family is nicknamed ejets. The crj gets a bad rap. But in msfs I’ve enjoyed it. thanks to farlis. February 19, 20233 yr Never Virtualcol. Never. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

February 19, 20233 yr The Aerosoft CRJ was one of the first airliners in the MSFS sim and I did like it for a time until other planes came along. Unfortunately, Virtuacool is a developer I would stay away from. February 19, 20233 yr One thing I do not like about the CRJ is I do not see checklists with ability to show you the control to check or change. With as many pages of checklists as it has, this for me is a must have. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

February 19, 20233 yr 2 hours ago, micstatic said: The crj gets a bad wrap. I was confused by the expression. A bad tortilla? I thought to myself: This can't be right, doesn't it stand for bad reputation and should be spelled bad rep? Then I looked it up and it was even more confusing. But I was right. Bad wrap is wrong. https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/usage-bad-rap-vs-bad-rep-vs-bad-wrap What to Know Bad rap is the original phrase meaning "a bad or undeserved reputation." Bad rep, which contains the literal shortening of "reputation," has historically been interpreted as a spelling error, but has seen enough usage to merit entry. Bad wrap is considered wrong and is best saved for referring to wraps and tortillas.
February 19, 20233 yr To be honest. for me all Rap is bad. Repetitive with some sort of message about all girls need to be someone's "Ho" whatever that is. Never really got into it. I am more of a classic rock man really.

February 19, 20233 yr Between those it’s the CRJ all the way. Personally I think it’s a plane that catches more flak than it deserves, it’s a decent aircraft to fly. Having said that the Just Flight BAe-146 is currently the best regional jet IMHO. February 19, 20233 yr CJR700 is one of 3 planes I use all the time in A Pilot's Life. I won't start using a plane unless I can become proficient enough to score well with it and Aerosoft CJR700 is very easy on performance and I have no trouble w/ its FMC and managed flight. Its lack of an autothrottle adds an element to pay closer attention to but for short flights it's a good fit. PAX capacity is around 65. The question is a little like; which should I buy.... A 1982 Russian-made Lada Riva 1200.... or a Porsche 911? 😄 All I mean is that the CRJ is a well-rounded, high quality, reasonably realistic and complex regional jet... and the VirtualCol thing is a model ported from FSX, with FS9-quality texturing and default systems. They're not on the same page of the sales brochure 🙂 TL:DR - Get the Aerosoft CRJ. It's a great little regional jet.
