I'm sure many people on here and in the flight sim community know Matt Davies with his videos on YouTube, twitch stream and flight sim projects such as Projectfly. He has sadly passed away today. Twitter thread from his partner can be seen at:

Far too young. My sympathies to his partner / carer. Matt contributed a great deal to our hobby. RIP.

We have an In Memoriam forum so I’ll move this there.

That's very sad news. I remember he was involved years ago in the development of PTA, a very useful utility for P3D. Rest in peace.

Cheers, Ed

Oh no! RIP Matt! I am in shock.

BTW, I never visited this sub-forum before and I am shocked to find out how many familiar names have passed over the last 3-4 years. NickN? OMG, no!

He was a noteable presence in the flight simming community (regardless of some people's experiences with him), contributing with his streams and his products (update of PTA and ProjectFly).

As said by Ray earlier, far too young.

This is so sad. He is one of the individuals who made me really dive into FlightSim. He will definitely be missed! We should plan a Memorial Flight in his honor for sure. He was one of the greats of the community no matter how you viewed him!

He had a fierce passionate heart. Misunderstood many times by many for his outspoken and passionate personality.  Being human one must live with the constant awareness of our mortality. Understanding that it’s the only true guarantee in life. This week I’ve been confronted with reminders of that unfortunately with a death of a far too young member of my own family. But just like I said goodbye to that family member, I say good bye to Matt. An advocate of our community whole created many great videos, and tool for us to enjoy. To have been able to see this magnificent reality that is life is truly how I choose to remember him and the celebration of his life.

Very sad news indeed.    I use to watch his Twitch streams years ago.   He love the flight sim community and hobby and I learned a lot from him.   Very sad news.   RIP Matt.

I remember him for his willingness to help. Many years ago, I installed PTA and could not get it to work properly. He picked that up in my comments and contacted me and we did a live session together. Super guy despite his human failings.
