which is what it does for me until I use something else to pan the view,  then it goes away, even if I go back to using the hat.  It would be interesting to know if the people effected are using the Alpha XPC or other device that has the xbox control buttons on it.  maybe the game is interpreting this as a full xbox controller, and showing the dot.  does this happen for any of y'all that have the original Alpha?

The thing is: I have an X-Box Controller hooked up as well, and use it for the drone camera only, nothing else. And I see neither the dot nor the white outlines, that some people talk about.

I use the Legacy Control System.

right, I have an xbox controller I use for the same thing.  and because you aren't using it for cockpit panning, you don't see the dot.  the dot only shows up for me when I use the hat on my Honeycomb A XPC.  usually I don't touch it, as I have a track IR.  The Honeycomb XPC is a de facto XBox controller though.  that's my current theory.

I actually don't know whether I'm legacy or not,  next time I'm by my sim I'll check.

I also have an X-Box controller that I use for the drone and I also use Legacy mode for cockpit interaction and I see the dot. But.. I also use the controller to pan the view inside the cockpit sometimes (for example to move around in the cabin to get passenger views), so perhaps you don't see it because you just use it outside for the drone.

That's it. In 2D I use the middle mouse button to look around and in VR.. well it's VR, you don't "use" anything, you just look around.

Yep, try panning the view inside the cockpit with the controller and I'm sure you will see the dot. It disappears after a couple of seconds though.

I noticed that both APP and VOR are not operative,

Those modes are presently not implemented (as they were reported to be used quite a bit less often), but may be in a later update.

So I flew today for the first time since the AAU2 and the wonderful new (to me) White Dot issue renders controlling the mouse difficult to use;

  • Mouse lags (even worse than it did before in VR) making precise movements practically impossible
  • Ability to use the Mouse to move Levers whilst the White Dot is flashing is also practically impossible
  • Mouse pointer flickers the White Dot on/off like a strobe

Quite why they deem to ignore this issue and slate it for "a future update" is beyond me, it's a GAME BREAKING ISSUE NOW if ever there was one, it needs immediate Hotfix attention not brushed under the carpet like so many regression issues before it.

Thankfully yet again we have to rely on the brilliant community to "fix" the issue as a workaround and this Mod might just save Asobos bacon, quick test and it appears to work as intended, although the White Dot does appear when I move my Rudder Pedals 🙄

Personally I wouldn't use the white dot mod. It's a hack and could lead to reinstalling the sim when the issue is fixed.

I'll gladly take that risk, it works a treat (just flown with it) and as the Sim is partially usable without it then I'm not gonna go without it for now!

yes but the white boxes only happens with 3d party

I know this an older quote but I haven't had a chance to read this post yet, so Im starting at the beginning. Im not sure if someone corrected you in the subsequent comments, but this isn't true. I'm getting it in the TBM right now. I've been standing on the mountain tops complaining about this since this beta began. Made reports. Nothing. I really hope that update is around the corner.

The tool is just changing something inside the memory. No local file are getting modified.

Yeah I could see the edges of the screens flashing white in the default Caravan, wasn't too bad and not a solid colour (VR).

It doesn't alter anything permanently.  You run it live during MSFS and it takes care of it.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I put together a video on the essential FMS setup for a completely automated flight in the 747. Works like a charm! Congrats Working Title!

Totally amazing.... How did WT manage to program this level of detail, and then throw it in for free??

Definitely amazing! This aircraft follows VNAV, LNAV and speed restrictions on autopilot to a tee! The characteristics of flight performance during the flight plan are as good and in some phases better than the payware models available. I don’t know what is planned for future 747 improvements, but this update in the current state will bring many back as their favourite to fly in Flight Simulator. What a blast to settle this heavy down for a landing!
