Boy, I'm glad you mentioned MSFS own sharpening - I had Lumashapen AND MSFS sharpening active, because I forgot about the Usercfg.opt file!  I've been using XP12 since the public beta, only recently spending more time in MSFS again.  Sure looks better with just Lumasharpen active!

I've installed the latest DLSS.dll file and changed the settings as you suggest.

As you can tell, the results aren't pretty.

Screenshots were captured on a system running 7800X3D, RTX 4090 (DX12, Frame Generation) and latest version of nvngx_dlss.dll and nvngx_dlssg.dll (3.1.13). I use a modified version of Final Light (reshade) but it was deactivated during this test run. In any case, it made no difference to the ghosting.

Framerate cap set to 162.

exactly the same for me,thats why i dont use DLAA

Here I use DLSS 3 icw GeForce Experience Gaming filters and one of them is the Sharpening filter.
It really makes a difference.

I just tried on my other system (7800X3D and RTX 4070) and it's also ghosting on DLAA (Nvidia). Much prefer DLAA to TAA (ghosting aside) for the same reason you mentioned earlier. Unlucky!

Regular DLAA ("DLAA") is one big aliased mess on my end. Jaggies galore.

Haven't messed with my AA settings for months, so just tried this from 'stock' TAA. (4080 @ 3840 x 1600, DX11) Scenery does seem to be sharper, and I see very little difference/blurring in cockpit instruments, if any. Thanks!

I have try it and surroundings looks just as good as TAA, but glascockpits get blurry for me in 3440x1440, maybe it looks better in 4K.

Im using DLSS (Quality) with my 4070TI, A user in a FB group told me a neat trick to help with the ghosting on the glass cockpits, I went into my usercfg file and turned up the secondary scaling from 1.0 to 1.8

SecondaryScaling 1.800000

Works great in the PMDG 737

 

I'm totally not up to date with the latest tech, but does this DLAA also work with a GeForce RTX 3090 card?

I've used DLAA for a while because TAA gives me unbearable shimmering at a lot of airports.  My 4090 seems way underused but oh well.

I gave it a try....DLAA appears very similar to DLSS quality on my end.  1440p monitor with RTX 4080.

There is a newer Nvidia DLSS dll file that significantly reduces the blurry gauges compared to the .dll that MSFS ships with.

If you're confident to do so, make a copy of the original file called nvngx_dlss.dll in your folder where MSFS.exe is located.

Download version 3.1.13 of the .dll file here:

And place it into your MSFS folder. That's it.

Much improved and you gain the performance benefits of DLSS. YMMV, however, I like what it offers.

There is no such file for me in my installation. Am I missing something?

It works with all RTX Cards.

I’d like to try this… Assuming I don’t need to use supersampling… Where do you make the Nvidia DLAA setting? In the sim? Isn’t DLAA tied to DLSS? I’m confused.

3.1.13 from June is a definite improvement on the one I had before from early Feb. Glad I saw this thread as I will now keep an eye out for future updates.

(nvngx.dlss.dll is here for those with Steam - C:\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator)
