Hi jon b: I notice when landing at the suggested VREF for the few miles before touch down often the 787 gently purposes up and down. PMDG 738 and FBW 320nx and others I fly don't do this. Why is this happening, is it normal? So to end this debate, is the premium deluxe worth it? ps: I already have the standard so I would be upgrading I went for it even back in the early days before all the improvements that have been made over time, and I've never regretted it. And since I buy payware scenery and aircraft addons, the "extra" cost of Premium Deluxe actually represents a savings to me in that I'm never tempted to buy any that are already covered by the extra addons included in the sim (e.g., 787 and Hand Crafted airports). Look at it this way: if you're satisfied with the quality of the aircraft and hand crafted addons in the Standard Edition, you'll be just as satisfied with the extras in the Premium Deluxe. And even more so with all the recent AAU updates!

October 12, 20232 yr @Noel I think Rob may have been saying yes to the OP’S question about is it worth upgrading to premium. Is this with the autopilot in? I do find the 787 in the sim too sensitive in pitch. The real aircraft does have weird feel to it hand flying on an approach which has something to do with the rigidity of its long carbon fibre fuselage causing a sort of feedback loop the pilot then puts back into the controls, it’s known as a body structural mode oscillation. I doubt very much this would be simulated here though, far too advanced for a default aircraft. I don’t think what you’re describing is normal behaviour no, probably just that over sensitive pitch. And in that case you get the Baron, C172 analog gauges, and the Citation Longitude thrown in for free.. not bad.. Bert
October 13, 20232 yr I would've paid the extra cost if it it only had the Longitude (after the WT modifications). It's a fantastic airplane, especially when paired with Navigraph implementation.
October 13, 20232 yr So I only have the basic MSFS purchased from Steam, and a few weeks ago I did begin looking up upgrade options to deluxe but it appeared I had to pretty much pay full price again - is that the case? The only reason I bought the basic version was because I was gifted steam cards for Christmas, but not enough for deluxe. i9-13900K | 6400MHz DDR5 (32GB) | GeForce RTX 4090 24GB MSFS 2024 | PMDG 777-300ER | FBW A380X | Fenix A320 | ini A350
October 13, 20232 yr It gets me Asobo releases like the ATR for dirt cheap since it gives us a lifetime discount for their products so I'm really glad I got it. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

October 13, 20232 yr All of the reasons posted are exemplary as to the value of the Premium addon. The 787, Longitude, Baron, C172, any one alone would be worth the upgrade. I originally bought the standard version and really wanted the Baron and Longitude. Fortunately the MP had a sale for a few weeks for an upgrade. That cinched it. What no one has mentioned, or I missed it, with the Premium, when you buy Asobo/MS planes in the MP, there's about a 20-30% discount. That will pay for your upgrade with about half dozen purchases. To concur with all other responses, YES.. it's definitely worth it, just for the additional aircraft alone. October 14, 20232 yr Do not forget the Pipistrel Virus - totally under-rated hidden gem of a plane. Great visibility with the transparent doors and high wing, good cruise speed (about 20 odd knots faster than a 172) has a CSU and with the air brake even does a reasonable job of short field landings.

That’s really impressive then. Actually that was strange timing as I was just reading a post you made a couple of months ago about your 748 having a superb flight model, when the quote notification popped up. I used to fly the -400 version so I’ll give that one a fly later. I must admit I’ve not been using it as it’s a bitter sweet experience for me, being back in a 747. See, that's a perception problem with MSFS. Because while SBS (and NPS and CFD) are available in the sim, the vast majority of developers simply aren't making use of them. So AFAIK, SBS isn't modeled on any of the Defaults save the C172 G1000. Did that change with the AAU update...?
