In a thread talking about how the devs are probably going to go on holiday vacation without another update, and saying it's an incredibly bad look to release a broken product then go on vacation gets you threatened with suspension. It really is wild to see it, and I'm glad it's not just me. I thought I was hallucinating or something about what I'd posted. Anyone who has worked in a corporate will understand how you have to dance to the whim of some clueless executive or end up on the street. The Dilbert cartoon strips briliantly satirises the life of a corporate engineer. I imagine the FS devs face a similar environment, let them enjoy their holidays like everyone else. December 19, 20241 yr I don't think even the most over zealous of mods over there have the capacity to ban/block the sheer huge volume of negative MSFS 2024 posts at the moment. It would have to be close to 80% of posts (if not threads) are are critism in some way of 2024. I've been reading plenty of comments critical of Asobo and MS over the past couple of days that has been left visible...not sure if thats because the mods just don't care as much anymore or they can't keep up with the banning workload! 🙂 Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs

I can 100% guarantee you that I could formulate a post and language that would immediately be censored and my account shut down and banned here at AVSIM. There is a fine line between civility and being able to post whatever you want, anywhere you want, about whatever you want. And depending on whose house you are in, you better learn their rules as to where that line is. Even AVSIM has one. flightsim.to - map
December 19, 20241 yr I am guessing that when "X" changed hands MS hired their out of work "fact checkers" and put them to work over at MS. I have had almost every post either shut down or moved over there, to the point I only read and never post now. Jay
December 19, 20241 yr The forum mods don't get paid by MS, they're fellow members volunteering. Jayne and Chewy are the only one's that are actually employed by MS.

I have had almost every post either shut down or moved over there, to the point I only read and never post now. I have been using online forums, bulletin boards (BBS), IRC, discord, etc. since the late 80s, all the way back to the "old days" of 2400 baud modems. In all of that time, from then until now, I have never once been banned from a service, had a post removed, or had any "strikes" leveled against me or had a moderator address me directly for behavior that needed to be corrected. Now, I do understand that there are sometimes "bad apples" that creep into the moderation jobs who truly do grind an axe or are fully unfair and abuse their position. These folks eventually get weeded out, but I have seen it happen. However, it is not the norm, by any stretch. I think you need to be able to read the room sometimes to know when you are dealing with a moderator of that ilk and act accordingly. I know to never say certain things around "Uncle Pete", so when I go to his house, I don't say the same things when I am in "Uncle Bob's" house. The point being... I am fairly unsympathetic to folks who say they have been "wronged" or have suffered "censorship" in online discussions. My experience over the last 40 years being online has decidedly demonstrated to me that it is almost always the wronged individuals own actions and words that have brought them consequences and accountability. So, if somebody has found themselves repeatedly being the subject of "censorship" or "bans" or "moderation", its probably best for them to look at the mirror for a split second before dishing out claims of unfairness, culpability, or persecution. flightsim.to - map

I think it very much depends. If you only ever experience that in one location despite using many, many platforms, it's hard to say it's you and not that one specific platform where you're experiencing it.
June 24, 2025Jun 24 Hester40MT is no longer a MSFS Moderator as far as I can see. Huzzah! Mayhap I'll try and overturn my 2 year ban. PS Sorry for responding on such an old thread. Hopefully someone finds it of interest.
June 27, 2025Jun 27 They are thin skinned for sure, made a post about my frustration about the 2024 sim/beta. I may have called the team clueless about the coding, but not in a offensive way.. The post was flagged and removed the second i posted it. Happy siming folks..

Only those who want to keep at bay; some other are running wild and allowed to do what they like. It is not the same for everybody; rules apply only to some and not others.
