SU 15 postponed again?

Featured Replies

as for the DX12 tile issue, i wonder if this fixes only the broken tiles at airports ( sometimes you may see grass on runways etc) . or just in general.

For example , when flying from YYZ to LGA about 30 minutes in, you start to see popping tiles for about 10-15 minutes around NY state. It seems like Bing Maps tries to load fall textures in a specific area, then when you get closer to NYC, the popping stops. Happens west of Chicago ( when going west ) , again for about 15 or so minutes , and then ( was flying to KSEA that day) nothing else. No popping anywhere. Same thing , map tiles try to load .

Maybe this is a map server issue and not DX12? Only happening in certain areas .

Hold up, they actually fixed the DX12 bug?

Not sure that they have... "DX12 aerial pop-in" is not how I would describe ground tiles disappearing at airports. But let's hope.... those on beta will confirm shortly.

Most everyone has been happy with performance overall at least I never read comments to the contrary, but I don't hang out on the MSFS forum for perhaps Xboxer comments.  And I've seen ample testimony from same that performance is good.  So what you are experiencing can't be by design as where would the impetus come from to drive down TLOD in order to improve performance?   Doesn't fit--they're not releasing SU15 because 'taint ready.

In order to get the same drawing distance with the latest Beta, I have to choose TLOD 300 instead of 200, yes I have tried going back to SU14 and found out that this is the case, my computer manages to keep the performance at a high level anyway, but everyone has not that luxury.

The problems I had yesterday with popping on ENVA are at least gone, but I have only done 3 minutes of testing.

DX12 Texture Bug fixed?!?! I'm beginning to wonder if their Bug Priority List is a just a bunch of post-it notes on a wall and they throw a dart blindfolded to choose which one to fix next😄

In typical Jorg / Asobo fashion, they have utterly confused the situation and don’t understand that the DX12 bug is bleed through of tiles at airports and the other bug is the tile popping that occurs all over the world with DX11 and DX12. I give up with them.

On the other hand it shows how invaluable their Twitch developer livestreams are. Months of endless forum posts and bug reports didn't help, but it took one livestream and two weeks later it's (hopefully) fixed.

At a first glance fpsd as sh**** as before.

edit:
Even worse, far worse.

Just saw an fps of 31 at KJFK where I had 50+ on the “good” beta releases.
With frame generation and TLOD of only 150.

FPS overal even worse than in 1.37.16.0 - 31 to 36 fps at KJFK, extreme stutter on turning my head.
Object LOD further reduced - landing gear of rolling aircraft not visible until they are closer than about 250 meters. OLOD 200, all settings ultra, 24 GB nVidia GPU.

Like that it's unplayable for me.

3090Ti with FG - I'm not allowed to say that on the MS forums since I mention the word "frame generation" without having a 4000 card.

Probably smart to clear shader cache.

Because the addon violates the sim's EULA.

Guess what I do as standard procedure.
I know all the tricks, and use all of them - none works.

That's weird. I am getting much better performance in the latest beta.

Wouldn't surprise me - a word about your hardware and your settings if you've got the time?

Performance is quite good on my end, don't notice any regression.

And it seems ground texture tearing under DX12 is really gone 🙂

Happy so far.

The DX12 issue only affects airports textures.  What you describe is the LOD tile popping issue which is beyond airports and affects both DX11 and 12.  During past tests I even got it in Europe with all addons and world updates removed.
