IniBuild and their horrible performance

Featured Replies

I decided a while ago no more IniBuilds for me due to issues with performance in their planes and airports, and constant download issues with IniManager.

Seems to me they want to do everything all at once to sell whatever they can, but user performance isn't a priority for them, so I'm out, and they are not a priority for me!

I am not too bothered about their A350 now, and as for the A380, we will have the FBW version eventually.

It seems users (and Asobo) spend lots of time and effort trying to optimise performance in the sim just for IniBuilds to come along and throw it all away for the sake of a quick sale.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

No, you’re not alone. I have no problems with their airports, either.

I can’t speak for their airplanes, but with a system like yours there should be no problems with their airports.

But then again, i fine tune my simulator, i don't just set everything to ULTRA. I carefully check every single setting to see what i really need visually and what really makes an impact visually. I even downgraded my 4070 to a 4060, made a tiny SFF PC and make good use of FG and DLSS and get 80-90fps in EGLL with the A310 or A306. Zero stuttering, perfect landings without any issues, etc.

I do not have any problems with performance at IniBuilds airports (with AI disabled) on my i5 7600k/GTX 980Ti powered PC. I do not have the likes of KLAX or KJFK, but I do have EGLL with ORBx Great Britain, ORBx Great Britain Mesh, ORBx VFR London Landmarks, UK2000 EGLC London City, Burning Blue Design EGLF Farnborough, and SC Designs EGLK Blackbushe all active in the area.

Zero issues with the a300 or any of the ini scenery.

I’ve got a 12700k 4090 with Frame Gen

You/we dont know what the OP is calling bad performance.  His bad performance might be your zero issues performance.

I can tell I'm at or in a Inibuilds product just by how badly my machinery is chugging. No need to check who made it.

I could get an airport that's in a demanding wider area, but it's all of the aircraft too.

Everything has the same twitchy, slideshow quality that's offputting enough to not make me want to fire it up.

They don't let up with the updates, but it's rarely transformative for me.

Turning down one's settings entirely to accommodate one developer is not how things should roll.

I purchased their KSAT and the first thing I noticed were the stuttering and low fps in the airport or its neighborhood. Since then, I stopped buying products from them.

Cheers, Ed

KSAT is the worst performing scenery for me. I run DX12 and you cannot use this airport at all with DX12. iniBuilds knows about the performance issues with this airport and to date, zero fixes. So to me, they really don't care.

iniBuilds can be frustrating, sure.

What is it, 10 updates to the A300 and still short of the standard of other aircraft devs?

And requiring 2 – 3 subsequent updates to get their scenery to perform acceptably?

I'd say KSAT is nowhere near as popular as their other sceneries in their catalogue, which would explain the 'they don't care' attitude being attributed to them.

However, they have delivered:

  • EGGW
  • EGHI
  • EGLL
  • EGNM
  • EGSS
  • EIKY
  • KBUF
  • KDTW
  • KJFK
  • KLAX
  • KOKC
  • KPSP
  • KSAT
  • LEIB
  • LPPD
  • NFFN
  • NZQN
  • OMAA
  • OMDB
  • PHNL

And given us, for free:

  • KMKE
  • Venice Beach Pack
  • Maasai Mara Safari Pack
  • Dubai Landmarks
  • Abu Dhabi Yas Island

Most of which are of a good to high standard and have received those optimisation updates.

Top tier? No. But given the glacial release schedule of some of the best developers and the pump and dump model from mid- to low-tier devs, MSFS would be a lot poorer for not having iniBuilds' products in it, IMHO.

MSFS; Fenix A320; A2A PA-24; HPG H145; PMDG 737-600; AIG; RealTraffic; PSXTraffic; FSiPanel; REX AccuSeason Adv; FSDT GSX Pro; FS2Crew RAAS Pro; FS-ATC Chatter

Out of all the long haul aircraft used in the commercial industry today, the A350 would get me the most excited alas because it's Inibuilds I don't even think about it and that's disappointing.

The only consolation might be that they've learned from their A320 debacle but I'd seriously doubt it given their business model just seems to be "churn out everything NOW and worry later". I think their biggest strength is marketing, not overall quality.

No issues here either with Inibuilds aircraft or Airports, nothing special about my system either. Very strange.

I'm happily flying the heck out of the A300F on a quite old rig with a 5700XT... Can't comment on the scenery but me not having issues with the bus. On the other side I'm not able even to tell you what fps I have as I do not check. As long its smooth for me all fine. And yes I know my limits and leave traffic off or very limited on hops into bigger hubs. And yesI fly JF classics, Fenix and pmdg also...

Falls short in what ways? I've flown it dozens of times. It flies fine.

The A300 wasn't like that. There was 6 months between announcement and release. At least I wouldn't consider 6 months to be rushed.

I find some big Airports that where unusable on the 1.0 versions are well performing now after some very good updates ( just some, KJFK, EGLL, KLAX, LEIB, OMDB, OMAA ) on my PC  and that is not a high end PC, see my specs, but all settings are fine tuning to fit my feeling for a good level of performance.

So not much on ultra most mid and some high no DX12..

But the planes are more or less bad compared with all other aircraft.

They should go over them and look deeper into the planes and do that what they done with the Airports and i mean not only the code for the gauges and so on  but look at the models also, maybe to save some polygons there and i personally belive that this is the cause for the lack of performance for the planes.

cheers 😉

Microsoft must have been happy with the performance of the A320Neo since they commissioned it, I imagine it had performance budgets. Ini said they didn't include the default Asobo terrain radar because it caused performance issues.

Though I imagine performance testing is done with zero third-party addons, just all default stuff.
