June 21, 20241 yr Everything looks nice but not super impressed by the texturing. Looks like fenix has me spoiled. Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive

June 21, 20241 yr What has me excited especially is how the new LNAV flies turns with zero deviation and no wing wagging whatsoever even at 4x time compression.

I hope that we will be able to say that about the NG3 in due time as well... indeed very reassuring. (But long overdue)
June 21, 20241 yr Yeah, Emi can be opinionated at times when it comes to flightsim stuff and that is completely out of character for flight simulator forums where folks are always humble and never partake in roasting other people and/or companies. Although some may not like PMDG, you'll never see anyone on the forums saying anything bad about the people that work there. Always nice and respectful.

June 22, 20241 yr New LNAV looks great from what I've seen. Interior engine sounds on the other hand, not great. Really hope they work some improvements there. I've never been in a 777 cockpit but I find it really hard to believe that's what a GE90 sounds like.

Maybe I'm wrong but this is appearing as a common complaint on other forums as well. If we have any real 777 pilots here I'd love to hear what they have to say. Edited June 22, 20241 yr by Andrew2448

We have accurately modeled the trim speed rates, facilitating precise manual flight stability. The trim rate (units per second) varies based on phase and configuration of flight, for example, and will be even lower when flaps are up. The Electric/FCC trim rate is modeled accurately to the millisecond. 6 hours ago, threexgreen said: C*U law has just been demonstrated in the stream I'm watching as well and it appeared to work as it should, not like in the later P3D release where it was a little off. It kept the airplane very stable in turns with no pilot input required as long as speed remains constant. So, will trim behave more like it was in 2020 (latest FSX version update)? I had to force the P3D v4 old version into v5 because of the changes in trim. If we have any real 777 pilots here I'd love to hear what they have to say. Interestingly enough at one point Simmers were angry because you could not hear the APU sounds. You cannot hear the APU sound from the flight deck. But that's what they knew. Some developers even put the sounds in just to make people happy even though it was totally wrong. Then simmers were angry that the engine sounds were too soft, because they were used to hearing them from the vantage point of sitting on the wing. I am a Diamond Delta Medallion flier and generally sit in first class, and its VERY quiet up there, and the further the front cabin is from the wing the quieter it is. The last time I was in a cockpit jumpseat was in a Continental A300 (word not allowed I'm old) and I was amazed how quiet it was up there almost strangely so. PMDG usually puts microphones in the flightdeck so unless they DIDN'T do that with the 777 unfortunately, what you hear is what it is. You just have to unlearn what you think you hear when sitting in the cabin vs what a pilot hears with the door closed way up front, away from those big GE90 turbofans on the flightdeck.
June 22, 20241 yr Stop. Just seriously stop right now and take my money LOL. 777 has always been one of my favorite birds. Not even abotu PMDG just about a good high quality 777 add-on... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

But that's what they knew. Back in previous iterations of Flight Simulator, you would hear the tires "chirp" when the aircraft touched down, which didn't make too much sense in a small aircraft but made absolutely no sense whatsoever in an airliner. But that is what the developers thought the customers wanted to hear. I recall people being upset with realistic sounds in a 747--in the real aircraft you can't hear any external sounds on touchdown at all, just internal clattering and the speed brake lever deploying. The real sounds sounded unnatural to people who grew up on Flight Simulator. Edited June 22, 20241 yr by prolixindec
June 22, 20241 yr Anyone know if the TCA throttle and joystick will map over like it does in the PMDG 737? I would assume it’s the same?
