People complaining about texturing while watching a compressed Youtube video, LOL.

  • I think we get it Bob. You don't do or like long hauls. 😅 I'm sure I missed a 4th remark somewhere in the 7 pages. 😉

Not sure when you guys will get her....but this one is already on flightsim.to for your downloading pleasure (click the link in my sig to get to my flightsim.to page).  More to follow when I get time.

  • From Reddit someone used ChatGPT to summarize RSR’s forum post. Then someone else used Claude AI to turn it into Randazzle speak. It’s gold because I can picture Randazzle saying this into a mirror wi

There are better models out there in MSFS before, than the recent PMDG products but they are not known for the best texturing but the simulation of the aircraft and PMDG is one of the best in any flight simulator. That should matter the most.

Come on, you know what I mean. They are extremely high pitched, absolutely no bass audible what so ever.

And that's the problem with 99% of flight simmers (myself included). Our basis for judging what feels realistic is from the cabin, which is a very different experience than from the cockpit. Even 6 feet further back in row 1, the soundscape is fundamentally different to that of the pointy end.

To be fair to Emi his video was very informative in terms of system depth, especially for a long haul ETOPS flight and I got a lot out of it, plus he'll do some follow up vids for more systems in detail. Easyjetsimpilot on the other hand! Why bother sending the pre-release to people who never use Boeing or have no intention of flying the aircraft properly and with zero knowledge about how some of the very basic systems work. His rudder settings alone had the 777 moving like a cesna. He wasn't even aware of the checklists function, "lets just get the plane in the air shall we?". Very poor video from him.

Overall the aircraft looks and sounds great despite a thread over on PMDG completely bashing the sounds inside and outside the cockpit.

Blackbox later today will be good.

The sounds are a turnoff for sure. But just read from a reliable discord that we will see a 777 after market sound package from someone reputable. So I guess it’s a moot point

What is the evaluation of the sound even based on? Live streams are rarely, if ever, suitable to rate sounds. The sim sound is often way too quiet under the streamers voice and even when they stop talking it's really quiet. I didn't discern anything negative with regards to the sounds in the stream I watched, but I can't come to a verdict anyway since it didn't do the sounds justice in terms of volume.

Point is, I've never watched a flight sim stream that made it possible to properly rate sounds.

I think weve been spoilt by Fenix anything compared to that texture wise in my opinion including PMDG is nowhere close.

The previewers keep saying the performance is similar to the 737, but I've seen at least two streams now with concerningly low FPS. I hope this is just a problem with the stream or something.

Well, a payware-quality sound package from Boris Audio Works will come with Bluebird's 757 by standard and no additional cost...

Streaming and/or recording causes a performance hit. A typical flight without content creator software running should be noticeably smoother.

A330 Driver is not a nice person

So what? I'm not watching a YouTuber's channel for their nice personality. I watch them because I either want to be entertained or informed. And Emi does that just as well, if not better than the next guy.

Interior engine sounds on the other hand, not great. Really hope they work some improvements there. I've never been in a 777 cockpit but I find it really hard to believe that's what a GE90 sounds like.

Ah... the age old: "I have no real clue how real they sound, but just my gut says this is wrong." comment about sound.

For me these type of comments go way back all to the release of the LevelD 767 in FS9 where everybody and their dog complained how quiet the engines were.

And as usual, none of them had any real world experience of operating a 767 from the flightdeck.

These aircraft are long. You are far away from the engines in the flightdeck and as usual the avionics fans are much louder than anything else.  That's what little I know. And I know how ridiculously hung on tiny details PMDG are. So the last thing I would assume is that they are incapable or reproducing the realistic soundscape of a 777 flightdeck in flight.

As for the texturing, I'm not quite sure what you guys find lacking, but as for the cabin texturing this was explained as a intentional design choice to ship them with textures as if everything was factory new and leave it to livery repainters (like Atarium and his excellent interiour work on the Fenix) to add their own spin on how used a cabin should look.

¿Así que lo que? No estoy viendo el canal de un YouTuber por su agradable personalidad. Los miro porque quiero entretenerme o informarme. Y Emi también es eso, si no mejor que cualquier otro chico.

For me he is the best, with his rights and wrongs, he says what he thinks. Most of the other youtubers seem to be commissioned salesmen, as we saw with the first iterations of Fenix, which clearly had problems and not a single criticism was seen.

Showcase 5:Avionics and flight deck

Avionics & Flight Deck

  • Modern airliners are incredibly complex machines, and we have worked hard to model how the airplane responds to crew inputs accurately. You will notice that aircraft systems take a moment to respond to changes in switches or knobs. Lights and indicators likewise take a moment to reflect changes in system status. This is the hallmark of the depth of simulation included in your PMDG 777.
  • With the myriad of sensors and possible EICAS messages and alerts, Boeing put significant effort into designing suppressive logic to eliminate nuisance transient alerts. Many systems have delays that may be 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 12, 15, 30, or 60 seconds to stabilize system states before the airplane allows an alert to be displayed to the crew. This may cause scenarios where you notice a light illuminating within a system switch, but time passes before an advisory appears on the EICAS system. This is correctly modeled behavior in the PMDG 777 and reflects the depth of the system logic inherent to PMDG product lines.
  • The optional crew alertness monitoring system is included in your 777. This system monitors crew inputs to the flight controls or autoflight system and will begin making nuisance alerts that require a crew response if no changes are detected for a period of time. You can activate or deactivate this system in the Options menu. Many flight crew wish it could be easily disabled in real aircraft!
  • You can move your tablet around the cockpit to various positions to suit your taste or phase of flight. We have also modeled the ability to hold the tablet in your hand near the FMS so that you can compare your flight plan to what is programmed into the FMS, along with fuel loads, fix names, ETAs, etc., as displayed in the FMS and on the NAV display—just like in the real world.
  • The 777 has a master dim knob that can be used to set the brightness for all cockpit lighting through a single knob. This can also be turned off by pressing the center button on the knob if you prefer to control the lighting levels fully manually.
