Today it was the guys from Prepar3D, tomorrow those from 2020 and later those from 2024. The problem? we're always feeding this...

And there are absolutely no problems with this. If one chooses not to keep up with the market, they cannot complain when the market doesn't cater to their needs.

I don't think interest in a unpopular product warrants lackluster communication.

Let's see what you will say when MSFS being withdrawn from market of PMDG. That's the real test for your statement.

Check out the upcoming PMDG Anniversary Sale.  Wait?  P3d not included…

Nor the 777….  So we can get 27% of a 737 variant for msfs or the DC6?

the 747-800 for P3d sure would be nice.

It really isn't.  If MSFS 2020 users were to decline to the same point that it no longer even made sense to sell EXISTING products to them because of backend costs, I would expect PMDG to remove them from sale.  There really isn't a difficult logic matrix going on here.

PMDG aren't even treating their P3D customers poorly - if you own their P3D products, you still have access to them.  You can still get support for them.  What they aren't doing, is taking on additional new sales and  subsequent support demands.  If sales are so dire that it makes business sense for them NOT to sell something any more, so be it.

This feels like people are really just upset that PMDG aren't making new stuff for P3D for the foreseeable future, because they see this as some kind of betrayal and that PMDG 'owe' them something beyond the product they sold them.

At this point I almost feel like the situation would be helped by some P3D third party devs posting in here about what their monthly sales actually look like, to help shed some light on the reality of the situation.

Again: It's not their decision to withdraw P3D products from sale, it's how they are - or aren't - communicating with P3D users.

Don't waste your time, @d.tsakiris. They do not understand any argument except that their sim is better then ours. That's why I said they should stop praising it here, in the P3D forum.

As I said previously, it will happend, no doubt about this. One day, a new sim will arrive and msfs and/or msfs2024 will fade. and we will have the same debate over and over because some people will switch instantly and some others will stay with the older sim because they spent a lot or because they prefer msfs.

One thing won't change anyway: the fact that PMDG and others will make new products for the new sim because that's how they managed to stay in the business for so long. And the fact that they won't make new products or update for msfs and probably the fact that one day the current msfs PMDG catalogue won't be available anymore.  If today, the only available sim was still FSX, then the flightsim business would be dead already because you wouldn't attract newcomers with a sim released in 2006 and no, PMDG wouldn't release products for that FSx in 2024 because they would be out of the business.

So in fact, hopefully and fortunately new flight simulators will be created in the future that will eclipse msfs.

What do you really expect from them? What kind of communication are you waiting for?

A clear statment that the P3D products won't come back? Right now, they said "at the moment" so ok, it's not a clear NO but will it make any difference? If today, they will say "No, it won't come back", will it change the way you use P3D?

A reason why they are not on sale anymore? PMDG already answered their reasons even if for some of us, we don't understand them.

Let's all be honest and realistic here for once: People don't really complain because the former PMDG products are not on sale anymore. Most people here already owns most of the PMDG P3D catalogue and we knows that the P3D newcomers who could have been interrested by PMDG products are marginal.

In fact people complain because the fact that PMDG doesn't offer their P3D products on sale anymore is a clear statment that this is the end of the marriage between PMDG and P3D and by extend a marker that commercially P3D is living his last days.  And some people still have to accept it. It doesn't mean that P3D is dead, it doesn't mean that people won't use and enjoy P3D for many years to come. But it is another statment that it will be more and more difficult to see new products for P3D or even updates for existing products because we  have a major actor in the sim hobby about to draw the curtain for good. And sadly, FSLabs will probably be the next one.

When was the last time they directly communicated with P3D users? Over a year ago, I read one of those RR texts saying that "there was no news for NGXu".

13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber - MSFS 2020

More honest P3D users will turn to the existing outlet, that makes this entire topic pointless.

It will only be a matter of time before their products on Aerosoft's site will no longer be there.  At some point I guarantee that they will pull them from there too, just like they did with their FSX addons.  I bought my FSX PMDG planes from there and a couple years later (I waited a long time to buy them), they were unlisted, the same will happen with the P3D addons.  That's why if anyone still wants to buy their products there, they better hurry because who knows when it's going to happen.

They never listed it there for some reason.  I started a ticket and practically begged them to add it to Aerosoft's site and they said it's not going to happen.  I never got around to buying the 737NGXu and now I can't.  I just bought the iFly 737NG instead which is still an awesome airplane.
