  • Don't see the point in this other than 'get it released before MSFS2024 comes along.' You'd either have already bought Bijan Seasons or Rex AccuSeason. Alternatively, you weren't bothered enough

Well, to me, it looks like a massive improvement. REX and Bijan, if I'm not mistaken, simply change the colouring of the default trees, this Orbx mod seems to replace the default trees with totally ne

With 2024 just a few months away, going to pass on this one. It does look nice, but they are very late to the game.

Not reading through all the comments but this release would've been nice 2 years ago but what is the point now unless folks plan on staying with FS2020 until 2028 in which I don't see happening. 2021 would of been a buy for me but  no way in word not allowed way now.

Not sure what part of the world you live in, but in CA the tree color is not the same as the ground color.

What I mean is they scan the satellite imagery and the AI places the vegetation to match the colors in the imagery. The imagery isn't really depicting the ground, but the vegetation (or whatever is above the ground). It usually matches the colors of the real trees (or vegetation) being depicted in the imagery.

But that's fair if you like it. I just said I prefer the way Asobo did (not the textures, but the color matching).

That makes sense. It would look bad if the textures were green and the trees were brown or something. Seems ok from the limited pics.

But since we have "banners" in 2024, I expect all sorts of self glorification and advertisements will be sneaked into addons on flightsim.to.

Political messages. Cheap shots at rival sports teams. Hidden things that you don't notice right away, but one day at just the right time and place, the banners appear.

Third parties could easily do that now if they wanted to with custom billboards and such in scenery. Heck one dev already has with a big sign over an area where they're making their next payware airport.

Plus, I don't think we're going to see banner aircraft in the wild in the sim, I imagine they'll be limited to the missions.

Come on people...

Bijan's work is more than just tree coloring. He added tons of not only custom trees but full foliage to certain areas.

Years later the Bijan mod still shines with it's unique touch and attention to detail. I don't need the ORBX trees at this point Bijan beat them to the punch long ago.

Hiya, I am always first to apologise if I have made a mistake. It's never my intention to spread any false information, hence the reason why I said "It's my understanding" and that is what it is. From what you say, my understanding of the product is wrong, which is fine, so I am happy to be corrected.

Is there a mod that reduces the size of the trees and also removes them from locations where they should not be?

IIRC tree size can also be changed in AccuSeason. I agree that the timing of this product is odd. I’ll wait and see how it is received.

What about removal of trees where they should not be located? There is no mention of this in the product description.

There's no mod that does this all over the planet, there are individual mods like one I have that removes trees on volcanoes for example. But it's all done manually, so if you're asking for specific areas you'll have to find a scenery mod for that area that may include tree removal, or airports where the modder has removed them individually.
