August 19, 20241 yr Will there be a new camera system chase plane like in version 24? I am tired of the way this works, especially setting up wingviews etc
August 19, 20241 yr Not seen anything said, but don't think it's remotely difficult in MSFS to be honest. Literally press a key (or combination) to save a view, how can they make it easier? G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
August 19, 20241 yr MSFS has limitations on custom views. Chase plane for FSX had far fewer. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
August 19, 20241 yr I spent the first two years longing for chaseplane. The cam system in MSFS had a very long learning curve. But at this point I can do everything and more I could do in CP. I'd rather keep this camera system. Sometimes I think I could use a few more custom views. But other than that I'd rather stay the course. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

August 19, 20241 yr Commercial Member Would absolutely love to have anything more than 10 custom views. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
August 19, 20241 yr Author I always need to go outside the sim and change a textfile to be able to set wingviews, thats annoying.

August 19, 20241 yr Here are my wishes for camera system improvements: - Be able to define the way the system switches from one internal cam to another. At the moment it is always a 'fluid' movement. This is bad if you switch from cockpit to cabin (or vice versa), as it pulls you through all kinds of objects in a unrealistic way. Better just switch from one cam to the other in that case. - Persistent zoom setting (per aircraft) in drone cam. Very annoying! The default zoom is too much wide angled for my taste. - Orientation of drone cam shifts by its own over time. Am I the only one with that problem? After some time the orientation is all over the place and needs a reset. Why is it changing on its own? I would gladly pay for something like ezdok (which was my favorite) or chaseplane. August 19, 20241 yr Yet, instead improvements to wonky camera system we will get another bunch of castles or lighthouses. Artur
August 19, 20241 yr With Chase Plane, I could set up a series of external views and then move fluidly from one to the other, to simulate a walk round. The nearest I get to that with MSFS2020 is to move around in drone view, but even then I start out initially floating behind and above the aircraft, which is not ideal for immersion. Petraeus
August 19, 20241 yr Personally i found the camera system in FSX much easier and intuitive. For example: I love to see my own landings from outside, in FSX we simply had Tower view. IMHO the MSFS2020 system is much too cumbersome. Add to that i like to fly hotas, so not needing the keyboard at all. if i have to bind all the different keystrokes for views to my hardware i run out of buttons, or else i forget what button is for what.
