I stand corrected. I think you guys are right.

Just reread through the article and it seems to be too good to be true (to me). But I'd be more than happy to have a 747 classic from them (before MSFS2028, that is).

As always with the man I'll take that with a pinch of salt.

I wonder if they picked up the unfinished Justflight 747 classic that's been heavily delayed since the launch of FS2020?

I frequently visit the Justflight forum, and I'm sure I read with my own eyes that someone from Justflight replied to a post that they are no longer working on the 747 classic, but the project is in ‘good hands’. It seems to have been deleted since.

This is not P3D and lets hope its not really a 747-100. This is coming from a 50+ year old that has been reborn to the "Children of the magenta line" simmer.

I don't think there's any reason to assume the -400 and the -8 are dead just because they're also working on a -100.

You did not understand my post. I rather them to release a 777X or a 787 before an old rust bucket like a 747-100. I will never buy that.

I am looking forward to this. I loved the RFP 747-200 back in the day. I am hoping it comes with an option for no GPS - just the CIVA 10-waypoint INS!

Not sure a 747-100 is going to be a big seller. For one it’s a 3 person cockpit with an insanely high workload for a single MSFS pilot and the demands of flying raw data is beyond the scope of most desktop pilots. Even when you see the likes of Flightdeck2sim in the steam gauge aircraft he is clearly at the limits of his capacity for much of the time, and he’s a real rated pilot.

There’s a reason that that the A320 family consistently ranks number one on Avsim and Volanta etc, and that’s simply because the high level of automation lends itself well to desktop simulation.

Perhaps they will utilize AI assistant. The DC6 I imagine is equally complex.

We would be happy to provide a virtual co-pilot AND flight engineer for it, as we did with many PMDG planes (777, 737, 747) and others that do have a flight engineer, 727 & L1011 Tristar from other devs.

Not to say it won't have a feature or functionality for RNAV. These days it's tough to sell a product that needs ground based navaids as they're all being decommissioned, and I can't see something with just a CIVA INS or similar and steam plates selling well enough for PMDG.

Wishful thinking? -100 and -200 variants with a few different choices for cockpit configurations.

Very wishful thinking? -300 and SP, the big, great super-deluxe PMDG 747 series.

I struggle to see how PMDG internally could justify making something like a 747-100/200/300 with the R&D costs vs potential sales.

We'll never really know the sales numbers of the MSFS PMDG 737's & 777's but they would be huge numbers, and so ROI is very easily justified when years are spent developing them.

The Queen is my all-time favourite aircraft and one reason I never deleted P3D with PMDG 744/748, yet in MSFS I've flown the 748 a max. 3 times ever and if I thought about it hard, yes I'll buy the MSFS PMDG 744/748 because it's like looking up your first girlfriend 😄 but if truth be known I'd love a PMDG level business jet (not any BBJ) before anything else after their 74's.

Labour of love. RSR was a type rated 747 pilot after all.

Plus, I imagine the 737, 777 and 747-400 & -8 have sold/will sell in far greater numbers than ever originally envisioned. So a 'side project' of a 747-100, under tight cost control and financed by a small amount of the profit made from these multiple popular products, will be manageable.

That's what people said about the Ready For Pushback 747-200 back in FS8-FS9 times. And look how everyone is missing it, including me.

While I love the -400 instead, I admit I'm more tempted to get the -100 (and the -400) than the 777-300. I'm sure there will be an Avianca and an Aerolíneas Argentinas livery in no time after release.

Naaah, make it $74.71. 3 cents less than the -400 they want to port 😂

I'd love it. For now, I have the excellent Felis 747-200 in XP12, but the PMDG -100 would be a treat! I will buy it as long as it has some sort of GPS option. I am not a masochist to fly CIVA. Yes, I know how it works.

It probably will have one GPS since they put one in the DC6, for my part, I hope the GPS can be removed (or I won't buy) as I belong to the old RFP/CIVA masochist club (FSLabs where is the Concorde?)!

We're at an age where even horses would be retrofitted with GPS.
