They're dynamic, change with the brightness of the displays, your POV, etc... well done! they're pretty but I turn this off as I find it distracting and it must affect performance same with disalbing graphical options that reflect what you would see through a camera lens and not the naked eye Edited November 1, 20241 yr by EGLD
November 1, 20241 yr I’ve never been a fan of the A380 but I figured since it was free I’ll give it a try. Since downloading it I am on my third flight, this time a long haul from KJFK to OMDB. I must admit, I’m having a lot of fun with this plane. What I like so much about it is the process of learning something new. I’ve flown tons of Airbus before but there is something about the A380 interface that I just enjoy using. I still find it hard to believe this is just an Alpha and it’s free. I’ve purchased payware planes that weren’t this complete. I’m looking forward to flying it more and it can only get better from here. It has its bugs and still needs to be optimized but my system seems to handle it pretty well. Great job to the FBW Team. Can’t wait to see how 2024 handles this plane. November 1, 20241 yr Well, now it is even more obvious how below standards the jetway system of MSFS is, allowing only a single jetway per plane. Hopefully this limitation will be gone in MSFS (dream on...) or at least fixable by 3rd party like GSX. I can't imagine it taken it longer than a day to implement and get working properly.
November 1, 20241 yr Love the plane. Performance is good for me at 1440p@ULTRA (40fps at airport 60fps in air). It uses up all my VRAM on my 4070ti. If they sort that out it'll be even better. Edited November 1, 20241 yr by MikeH99

November 1, 20241 yr The good: Fantastic attention to detail everywhere Better in alpha state than some payware The bad: Feels a bit too easy to experience PIO on final Tight turns when taxiing are difficult, even at 2 kts The ugly: Had issues with zoom climbs leading to stalls on departure, despite correct flap, speed and THS settings VRAM hog (even using 4K textures) that often crushes FPS Needs some more refinement for my taste before I take it out of the hangar again. Though there is much to like, even at this early stage. There is no way the real A380 would be this ridiculously overpowered. Looking at the FBW discord, it seems the devs are already aware of this. Yes, I just did a QF1 from YSSY-WSSS after spending most of the day working out throttle profiles etc (and I only did the first hour just to experience the new aircraft in the sim) and I was at cruising altitude before KADOM after a 16R departure where IRL I would be at about FL130! Apart from that I have to say I have paid over $100 in the past for an aircraft in the sim that never got this good after 23 updates. Well done team.
November 1, 20241 yr Found my first issue with the flight management system. Did an approach that ended with a vector. So after the last fix the aircraft should simply keep that heading indefinately until you command something else. Instead the autopilot wanted to do a 180° to the last waypoint.
November 1, 20241 yr KLAX to OMDB flight simbrief initial altitude FL330 but the FMC shows FLOPT at FL365 Also I'm at MTOW with only 100 passengers for that flight, I doubt in real life that flight can only carry 100 people ?
