Seeing reports like this bother me. Are we now in the era where add on planes can’t even run without the highest hardware?

Ive seen others mention it’s not at all optimized. Hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy it at some point.

No, we're in the era where if you fly on VATSIM with literally 120943827423643267432643224637662 other A380s on the taxiways, you're gonna have a bad time.

  • I would say with a high margin of safety that this is the biggest community achievement in the history of Flight Simulation as a whole, and not even by a small margin.

  • click spot to disable the cabin. I found it helped a bit with VRAM performance

  • So far I am mind blown. It seems to be much better than I've expected. I still need to do a full flight on it, but just playing a bit with the avionics I can see that a lot of effort has been put into

I delibaretly DON'T fly new released widebody airframes on the online networks because everybody else does it. An environment where a controller has to deal with 3 dozens tripple sevens or 50 A380 is simply neither realistic nor fun for him. So I like to fly ATR or CRJ online during these times. If I fly online at all. 😉

On another note, i noticed there are two issues with the TCA throttle and the A380

- Spoiler lever is finicky. Setting it to 1/2 gives me like 1/4 in the cockpit. 1/4 in the hardware gives almost 0 spoilers. It works fine if I use the throttle axis from my joystick as a spoiler

- Auto brake selector, it's imposible to select BTV or MAX. LOW and MED seems to work fine.

I hope I am not the only one!

You can't select MAX for landing in any Airbus. Don't know about BTV

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Did you set up BTV on the OANS, as described here?

https://docs.flybywiresim.com/pilots-corner/a380x/a380x-advanced-guides/oans-btv/

With this, I was able to select BTV without any issues, and it performed as advertised.

Just did a short delivery flight from EDHI to EDDF. Very enjoyable -- the immersion is great. No major issues, just some minor niggles. The FMGC wanted to do a 360 degree turn on the STAR right after EBIPA. Performance was OK, but I have a powerful system. Framerates suddenly got very stuttery on about a 3 mile final, but it was back to normal by short final, so was able to land without any issues. Not sure if this was related to the aircraft, scenery, or something else.

Overall, a very impressive addon, I look forward to more flights in the FBW A380.

it has trouble maintaining cruise altitude, goes up & down the whole flight

Same issue here.

What are people seeing in fpm?

I got:

6300 fpm vnav, 400 pax, 45ton fuel

around 3600 fpm with 10 hours of fuel

great aircraft overall, an amazing marvelous and unbelievable day for flightsim!
just donated 50$ as it is totally deserved. Will probably donate more after a few updates!

Climb performance needs some work. I took off near MTOW and it climbed straight to 34,000 feet at 3500 fpm. There is no way the real A380 would be this ridiculously overpowered.

Looking at the FBW discord, it seems the devs are already aware of this.

Keen to hear if fuel burn matches Simbrief at all, particularly on longer sectors

So impressed with what they've done so far. I thought it would be way more incomplete than it it.

Not happening here

Cruise altitude is rock solid for me. I frankly can't believe this thing is free. The seat adjustment buttons even work. Insanely good for $0, and ahead of a lot of addons that charge much more than that.

The only annoyance so far other than the apparent RATO climb profile is that I'm having a heck of a time getting reversers to work with my Bravo in SPAD.neXt. The usual settings either do nothing, or jam the throttle to TO/GA. Anyone figure this out yet?

Okay the reflections in the windscreen at night are amazing.   The ATR does this too, and it's the first time I've seen it modeled in FS.  They're dynamic, change with the brightness of the displays, your POV, etc... well done!
