What new features of FS24 are you looking forward to?

Featured Replies

  • Improved flight model
  • Improved ground handling
  • Improved water physics
  • Better clouds (ie. cirrus clouds in live weather)
  • Improved graphics and ground terrain
  • Better multi threading

Seems like MSFS 2024 made a lot of improvement to the physics and I look forward to trying it out!

Fixed bugs and other issues...

  • Land bars in river mouths and coastal waterways
  • Inconsistent rendering of DEM data in some locations
  • Horizon line visible through mountains
  • Undercarriage not visible on other planes when at relatively close range
  • AI plane behaviour
  • Glass textures rendered as black through mist or haze
  • Inconsistent Bing maps data
  • Blurred areas in Bing data
  • Poor OSM data in Greenland and other far northern (and presumably far southern) regions
  • Oil tanks rendered incorrectly

I hope we finally have a weather radar on the Fenix in 2024.

What does that have to do with 2024? It's up to Fenix to add it to their aircraft.

They haven't changed the weather radar in 2024 other than to add tilt functionality.

Something that I don't think has gotten the attention it deserves yet is the new soft-body physics simulation that Seb showcased at FSExpo 2023 in this video here. This will not only bring us a realistic hot air balloon and paramotor trike, but also things like banner towing and the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System in the SR22 and Vision Jet (and hopefully some LSAs with a BRS). That's certainly one of the first things I'll be trying out in the new sim.

It's also used for ropes when carrying cargo.

I think there's a lot to look forward to!

For me personally: the new flight planning features by WT, the IniBuilds A330 and A321LR, the new ground physics, walkrounds, and Career features - having some form of direction to my simming, as much as I enjoy just planning a flight from point A to point B, I think I'm really going to enjoy having a steer and being able to choose my path and try some different aspects of flying.

Definitely looking forward to the new trees/seasons but really hope to see an actual thunderstorm (CB) in live weather.  Also look forward to Cirrus clouds and atmospheric lighting....

Serious now, all already mentioned and more, the helicopters and the gyrocopter, new heli-aircraft physics, live ships etc. etc. etc.. All. And all in VR.

And one thing I really fear, is to not be able to config my Xbox gamepad curves like happened in the alpha, and firstly my progressive collective and throttles axis in only one trigger, problem that I could workaround, editing rear trigger curves in MSFS 2020

(they aren´t full movement like is normal in the other flight sims in each trigger and you don´t have to set curves in those, full linear movement in left/right triggers, and MSFS split half travel in left trigger and the other half travel to the right haha),

would be a real problem and maybe unflyable for me.

Imagine that you have the first half collective movement in the left and the other half in the right haha, or the car/plane throttle travel split in two pedals hahaha.

Surprisingly for me, I think the thing I’m most looking forward to is charts. I flirted with getting a navigraph subscription for years but didn’t as I wasn’t sure I’d use it frequently enough for the cost. Of course the new lighting, clouds, flight and ground physics are also a plus!

I think i'm gonna enjoy the improved looks of the planet immensely. Visiting all places in the whole wide world that i've always been curious about, and seeing them almost in reality.

illegal bush pilot career.

This gave me a chuckle; I also plan on finding random patches of grass out in the wilderness to land the XCub and other taildraggers. Along with random backyards, random golf courses, and anyplace else that looks like an interesting place to try a landing. I'll be having fun putting the new ground physics through the paces!

Also looking forward to career mode and exploring parts of the world I never bothered with because I didn't know where to fly. The sightseeing missions are pretty cool since you basically get an autogenerated flight plan focused on a point of interest. In 2020 you either need to search the map for POI's and start in the air (which I never do), or you need to find a suitable airport nearby and then figure out a flight plan. Sometimes I just want a quick 20min flight where I can see something cool, and there will be plenty of career missions that offer that.

Hopefully, improved air to ground transition on landing.

And maybe, normal sized trees.

I am simple man, don’t need to much.
