MSFS...it is so you don't have to pause the sim and lose connection to BATC

    As a counter point, there are some things in the latest versions that are annoying and I’d classify as a regression, but calling it a “bug infested horror show” seems pretty excessive.

    All I use is the standard voices, never once used the premium voices. I am happy with the way they sound. 

I get a message that FSLTL or AIG isn't installed when I fire up BATC in 2024. Do I need to repoint FSLTL in FBW installer to 2024 directory?

Yes you do need one of those in the 2024 community folder.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

    I'm thinking of purchasing BATC. I'd like to stay with the basic voices but when I listened to a YouTube video based on a flight in Spain, I noticed it is very hard to understand the basic voices due to the accent. As soon as they switched to the premium voice, it was much better to understand the accent.

    Is this still the case or have the basic voices improved?

    What I do is run the basic voices in a Majority English speaking areas, and then switch to premium while over other countries.

    FSHUD refuses to work for me anymore, so I also got the supporter level for BATC.

    It is already very good. I've been very impressed so far.

    There's an option to turn off International Basic Accents which forces basic voices to use English based accents only.

    There is a option for improved local accents, that when switched ON can lead to basic voices being less easy to understand. 

     

    Personally my biggest Problem are BATC's US Controllers. 

    They are so earily well modeled that they throw at you those non Standard FAA instructions while speaking incredibly fast, that they are just as bad to follow as the real ones. 😉

    That's good to know. I've been testing FSHUD 2.0 and so far is really good.

    When BATC is released with ai control, I'll try it out. I like the voices I hear in YT videos. They sound great, but I do not want to pay extra for additional voices.

    I can see why and since I had purchased it for FS 2020 I will soon install it again and try it with FS 2024...

    Only "downside" is having to start subscribing to Navigraph again 😕

    Also haven't decided if I'll stay with default liveries or opt for AIG for the AI-injected Traffic...

    Speaking of BATC, that one premium controller with the east coast accent is 100% spot on as to how you'd feel when flying into NY or Boston. He's so spot on and even a little dickish with the attitude. 😄

    That controller is the voice of Kennedy Steve, a former KJFK controller who was known for his sarcastic and acerbic attitude.
