Did you guy try to restart MSFS2004 after first launch? It goes back downloading packages again!

I just punched in a 747 flight Heathrow to Manchester with departure and arrivals and let it plan its own airways and it all looked good to me. If I can then “download” that to the FMC using pseudo ACARS that’ll be great.

I got through setup. Went to start a career. Picked my airport and… crash. Just exited to desktop. Restarted and back to 6% loading screen… no…..

I got in and had to log out. Big mistake. Now I am at 9% of activating packages all over again. Hope they get that ironed out.

10% after 90 minutes, this is painful indeed 🙂

Of course i didn't think people would really dress up for it, the point is why the hell did someone start and people posted on that thread in the first place? Well you reap what you sow all the 'i'm uninstalling 2020'.

I'm guessing this will turn into a FIFA style update few tweeks few added bits and 2024 stuck on the end of it..... If i could only see someone flying in it on YT to see if i'm right, but alas it won't load...

I only got the Diamond Aircraft and a helicopter with the Standard Edition. No other aircraft???

Wondering if they're somewhere in the marketplace and you can download them. It's odd because i just received an IniBuilds email bragging about the A330 and as you can now fly it. They have to be there somewhere.

Well the flight planner is unusable at the moment. Gives me 12 step climbs by default (and haven't found an option to turn that off) on a 3h flight, no aircraft-specific fuel calculation (you have to enter the "average" fuel usage yourself... offensive initials not allowed?), cost index is 100 by default and non-changeable. I've stopped tinkering with it after this, so no idea what else is missing.

Lido charts are very nice, though.

I'll leave it running this evening and see if it passes the 97% mark some time... I don't dare to restart!

What I did actually was uninstalling the Beta, formatted the drive where it was installed and installed 2024 on a clean disk.
I believe that uninstalling the Beta removed FS 2020.
Not good.

OK, yup seems something went realy bad down the river, sorry about that 🤪

But you pretty shure can afterwards reinstall MSFS 2020 if you want to, but shure it is very annoying !!

By the way, where is the community and store files goeing can this be set to another drive like it was with MSFS 2020 ?

The planner isn't too intuitive though... Not the XBOX gamer's planner I expected: seems pretty die hard simmer complicated LOL
