Steam version is a dreadful mess.  I’ve been installing for an hour and a half and am at 10%

The servers are bound to be under at the moment - but in the future it will be the servers that will be this sim's Achilles heel: a great idea to have everything in the cloud but impractical for many, many people. Just my 2 cents worth, yo understand.

It is indeed weird if it defaults to C: drive, even when you have Steam and your Steam library on a complete different drive, especially given even 2020 gave you a choice. Not sure if this is intended or something we are able to change at some point. 

Inexcusable joke, and that is why we have good people who make sims like X-Plane 12, that is going on a bypass from this server cloud/idiocracy.

Heck, if the world dies of a nuclear war you can still play X-plane 12 underground on a genny. MSFS is at that point dead!!

Lets say on average 80 quid per game, by your numbers that's 80,000,000 in one hit...... no excuse's for not letting people install in timely manner, it will hurt them as people are getting frustrated which will turn to anger, steam comment's are a hot mess. Yes who cares about steam comment's, but that is their customers...

 

I have never pre purchased a game ever, even more so when there is already a game very very similar already.... 

I sort of liked "The Sky is Falling" lol.

Same thing no difference, but I just want it on Steam like most of my other games. I'm in no rush, watching the dumpster fire since 4pm has been funny, I'll wait patiently for it all to level out and if CDKeys don't get their keys I'll just but it on Steam at full price.

Even though I just started to DL, I"m impressed at getting over 300 mbps at times. My isp does up to 400. So it's running full blast even though there have to be zillions downloading right now at the same time.

So this is a disaster then, and the reason I've gone for the free standard edition on GP for now - rather miss out on my PD Steam content than waste good money.

 

 

Maybe this is the game...... it's simulating sitting at Heathrow as the systems crash and your plane is delayed. It's actually quite fun, almost exciting.

Yeah, Steam installed it on my E drive which is what I wanted but there is no community folder on E. I hope that can be changed.
