I am getting all the way to 97% on loading, and remains there with a message " Loading is taking a long time" and some reports been created. Anyone with similar? or a fix?

what I don't get is why render an animation in 3D in the loading screen, instead of capturing the animation in video and just play the video so that our GPU can breath during loading. so stupid !!

...and the list of strange decisions begins...

After looking at that 97% for an hour and a half or so I think I'll go and watch Neflix instead while MSFS keeps on doing its thing... if it is actually doing anything, that is...

Yup getting the same

I was hoping the tech alpha kinda showed the network team what they were up against.

What percentage of users downloaded the tech alpha - surely wasn't everybody that was going to buy 2024?

Erm, why?

Surely nobody would get to that stage an hour after release.

Instead of a refund, play the sim when daytime is happening at the pacific.

I9 12900K @ 5.1ghz P-cores/ 4.0 ghz E-cores fixed HT off / Corsair iCue H150i Capellix Cooler/ MSI Z690 CARBON WiFi / 32GB Corsair DDR5 RAM @ 5200 mhz XMP on / 12GB MSI 4090 RTX Ventus 3 / 7,5 total TB SSD (2+2+2+1+0,5 all NVMe)/ PSU 850W Corsair / 27" (1080P)

Anyone who might consider a refund: don't install MSFS2024! I just checked and I have it running now over more than 2 hours so a refund won't be possible anymore. Still stuck at 97%... I'd never consider a refund though: MSFS2024 is going to be great!

Simulate millions of people simultaneously devouring servers is impossible I think.

Microsoft is also aware of the issue where some planes are showing up but not all, or each time you load you see different planes. No ETA.

It is very possible. They could have had a beta and the first 25k or 100k get it. But that ship has sailed.

Its clearly not .. However i would hope they would not be dumb to not stress test and extrapolate based on the results of the stress test and the actual and projected sales numbers. This isn't rocket science. Its professional due diligence especially in that field.

I was hoping the tech alpha kinda showed the network team what they were up against. I get the point that yes the servers will get overloaded on launch day and things will be a bit slower but that should be accounted for at least a little bit.The experiences you guys are having right now is kinda what i experienced with the tech alpha.. just not as bad. but yep. I was sitting there for 15 to 30 mins waiting for stuff to load so i could actually go flying. I posted my findings on here and was completely ignored..

In the tech Alpha, I learned to wait after hitting FLY. That way the jitters all went away during the flight. But the wait was only about 3 minutes. From then on, everything was smooth and quick. That's the tradeoff of having stuff in the cloud that used to be local.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Playng with it, cause after a fast download, first launch is taking a while. After 20 mins, still at 10% activating packages.

But the planner looks quite nice! Charts, etops, fuel planning. I like it quite a lot!

Yup, played around with the flight planner. Bye bye Navigraph. MSFS put 80 dollars into my pocket!

Wow, i was assuming that was they just weren't loaded yet... but actual missing planes, in a plane game..

"We are aware of user reports of long initial loading times into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
With so many users initializing the sim concurrently, we have a large number of server requests. We are working to help resolve the issues as soon as possible.
For users whose initial load is past 90% and no longer progressing, we recommend a reboot. Otherwise we advise waiting to allow the loading to proceed as normal."

My plan was to install in around a week or two 🙂, with the immense popularity and anticipation of 2024 I never expected day 1 or day 2 to go smooth with the thousands of users hitting the servers, especially for a very cloud/server-centric software system like MSFS 2024.
