Downloading at 1.6 Mbit/s while my connection can reach 500 Mbit/s at min.

I knew I wouldn't be able to play tonight (Europe CET time). I was prepared to it but still disappointed, lol

Where are the brave guys who uninstalled MSFS 2020 yesterday?

I don't actually believe anyone did. It was just for attention I'd wager. Flexing as the most committed.

Just restarted. This time I got popups from my virus software and was able to allow the program. Might be what has been hanging folks up? Will see how long it take this time.

It' over 1.5 hours on "Customize Identity". I have no idea what is happening behind the scenes.

I hope the streaming servers are different to the installation server or this is not going to be very good. Both times I loaded the sim after the installation it to 20min to load and all the textures are fuzzy.

Several streams online now who have made it in have reported low quality textures for this exact reason. Unfortunate.

Yeah. £118 for the Aviator edition. Only downside is I'd prefer it on Steam. Will meditate on it.

Yeah, the planner looks totally awesome! It doesn't seem to automatically create flights with SID and STAR though... I had to manually add stuff and delete stuff... rather cumbersome and not too intuitive. But it'll get better. (Or I'll get better at it LOL)

At this time, the planner doesn't automatically suggest routes. If you're on the web version, there are buttons to get SID and STAR suggestions, and on both sim EFB and web a button to automatically generate an enroute segment, but keep in mind these are procedurally generated and not sourced from a database, so you may need to adjust them as required for local rules.

I do think it needs the sim to run in order to load things...

The sim does not need to be actively running in order to use the web version of the flight planner. So, you can plan your route on the couch on the web version, save it, and later open the sim and download it to the EFB planner app!

Hate to say i told you so but i told you so. Best decision I’ve made this year cancelling my preorder.

A disaster of a launch.

Customize identity is the final boss.

it shouldn't be like that though Rob, why have a learning curve when things are not learnt.

I hear you. The first mistake was naming it MSFS 2024. That already added some pressure to launch it in 2024, which was really unnecessary. I really thought MS had learned that lesson with Windows naming. I thought they learned about the need for betas in MS 2020, but they forgot that lesson too. Again, not terrible if you weren't expecting much. Give them a few months. It will get better. This IS the beta. And to those saying the Alpha was not the final release....lol.

I thought the textures on the tech demo were really poor.  Yet everyone seemed really positive about the whole weekend.  I hope the map enhancement mod works.

Pretty cool how MSFS servers being hammered on launch day is news on Forbes 🙂
