Did anyone successfully get to the main menu after restarting, after being stuck at 97%?

Restart your computer. This is working for a few.

7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

just sit down and keep watching the intro video; in facts there even a video sdk included for a reason.

Still stuck at 97% and still can't make sense of the planner... But regardless: the options the planner has makes me sure MSFS2024 is a real step forward and I can't wait to use it all!!! In the end all this was to be expected... Installing something like this within an hour after the release just isn't wise. I don't blame anyone but myself, haha!

I am looking forward to all the joy MSFS2024 will certainly bring me once the dust has settles down!

Same for me. Stuck at 97%

what I don't get is why render an animation in 3D in the loading screen, instead of capturing the animation in video and just play the video so that our GPU can breath during loading. so stupid !!

I was hoping the tech alpha kinda showed the network team what they were up against. I get the point that yes the servers will get overloaded on launch day and things will be a bit slower but that should be accounted for at least a little bit.

The experiences you guys are having right now is kinda what i experienced with the tech alpha.. just not as bad. but yep. I was sitting there for 15 to 30 mins waiting for stuff to load so i could actually go flying. I posted my findings on here and was completely ignored.. so i thought maybe i was the outlier with the problems even though im on uncapped gigabit internet and everything else internet wise (msfs2020 server data) is running pretty well ...

hmm... i guess not then...

Hopefully once the network traffic normalizes we can get the faster load times promised and the servers work as intended.

Delta Airlines has better servers than Asobo. And they're still running Windows XP.

I am getting all the way to 97% on loading, and remains there with a message " Loading is taking a long time" and some reports been created. Anyone with similar? or a fix? This is on  1GB fibre.

but if unlucky is back to the queue - worth the risk for those who only have short time.

And I'm strangely intrigued by your obvious and rather strange bitterness and cope with all the attention 2024 is getting, and how you just seem to be b**thurt about many users moving to 2024, and daring to even uninstall 2020.

Watching you is like driving past a car crash too 🤣 Did you grow that much of an attachment to 2020 that 2024 is impacting you rather personally like this lol? ... anyways my advice would be to take a deep breath, and/or go play MSFS 2020, and/or go outside and touch some grass. But I'm gonna bet you're gonna choose to keep seething.

I'm not seething, and i sort of covered the ground you just covered already. MSFS 2020 is a stunning sim, always will be, totally shifted the whole flightsim genre. This is an update on an already stellar sim, its gone really really really badly so far, i wish it hadn't as i wanted to be watching videos now and flying the same areas to see what has changed so i can either purchase it or leave it....  That is what a responsible consumer does.

Does anyone knows how to request a refund?

Erm, why?

Surely nobody would get to that stage an hour after release.

It was meant for a normal public release of a few cavemen, not millions of us.

We have extra room heating now though.

After looking at that 97% for an hour and a half or so I think I'll go and watch Neflix instead while MSFS keeps on doing its thing... if it is actually doing anything, that is...

Microsoft is recommending live YouTubers to reboot at 97% (also stated on their Twitter account.) YMMV.
