Asobo would have done themselves a big favor by providing some guides and a few videos to walk people though the changes, setup and how things operate.

would be a big favor for them and us. they obviously ran out of time to keep the november 19th deadline. I expect the first bug fix before christmas.

  • Well, this isn't going to take 5 minutes to fix-up is it?  I expect it could be well into next year.  I see people saying we need to be patient, and patience is a virtue.  Well, if wasting my life a

  • and yet some people couldnt wait to uninstall 2020.

  • 😄, posting goodbye threads and Youtube videos.  I saw this coming a mile away (a total cloud sim 🤨).  It might be March 2025 before I dive in (maybe next summer).

Dear Lorby Axis and Ohs.

Make it better.  Here's my money.  FS2024 was greatly anticipated. I cannot and do not want to map controls without Axis and Ohs.

If this is to be believed then MS planned for 200,000 users simultaneously and the servers have been overwhelmed with no perceived fix in the near term other than throttling the number of users, hence the queue.

MSFS 2024 database is still overwhelmed, and Microsoft has no timeline for fixing it.

The subdivisions around where I live are two story single family houses.  In the sim they are all four and five story buildings.

Dear oh dear. So many bugs. Can't get into the Ovation cockpit presumably because there is no opening cockpit door? Is there a setting to start in the cockpit? Tried the flight planner with the A320 and got a CTD. Also, this afternoon no flight will load bebcause, apparently, my bandwidth is too low? This is dreadful!

Shift+c take you to the cockpit.

You probably have a noisy controller somewhere else that was automatically assigned?  That's what I had going on with my oldest peripheral, the CH throttle.

No doubt. Problem is that I can't find it. It would be so much easier if I could just clear out the controller config.

The plan is to release version 4.50 tomorrow. Quite a few people took the plunge with the early access version, and it seems to be working well enough.

Thanks. But now no flight will load. Servers must be overwhelmed. They are a victim of their own success I guess. Will they solve it or will they just pull it?

Are they though - a victim of their own success?

perhaps they didn’t want to scale up any further due to costs?

perhaps this just isn’t going to work - design issue maybe?

When the price of storage is so cheap these days they decided to go fully cloud based.

My prediction is that during the life span of 2024 Asobo will gradually allow you to store more and more locally.

Trees are also way, way too tall in most places. History is repeating itself!

And people not understanding the new GUI yet, it took me some guessing but I got every binding on my controllers identical to 2020.

I removed MSFS 2020 after a very fun day of flying today.

The controls GUI is different than 2020, but is a cleaner interface and I much prefer it. I created a custom control profile and named it “generic” and assigned it to all aircraft. The only potential issue is that when you setup a different controller for the first time, you must assign it to the same name custom profile name and repeat the “assign to all aircraft” step.

Not doing this is probably why some users find that their control assignments are lost on subsequent restarts of the sim.

I set up all my controllers: Fulcrum Yoke, Thrust Master TPR pedals, Virtual Fly TQ6 throttle quadrant, and a Saitek 3-lever quadrant. I use two of the axes on the latter for spoilers and nosewheel steering.

I enabled the “2020” keyboard profile. All my controllers are set up as I had them in 2020, and all work correctly.

I like the fact that when you assign a button or axis for the first time, if the are any conflicts, it will put a white circle on the right side of the assignment window showing the number of conflicts, and you can click on the gear icon to find and delete any unwanted dual (or more) assignments.

I have now got into a flight only to find the aircraft will not move after pushback. Chocks removed, parking brake off, tug removed, power to engines. A321 goes nowhere 😬

Local storage of scenery and aircraft is supposed to be possible right now, but that feature is currently disabled. It probably won’t be enabled until the marketplace is fully functional.
