November 26, 20241 yr Does it still work fine or did MSFS 2024 cause those servers to stutter also? I plan on diving into MSFS 2020 after Thanksgiving and i hope i have a sim to dive into. Any major new issues? 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
November 26, 20241 yr I've used MSFS 2020 every night for the last 2 weeks, which is obviously before and after the launch of 2024, and I haven't noticed any differences. Edited November 26, 20241 yr by prolixindec
November 26, 20241 yr Same here. Slight improvement (re stutters) if anything but maybe that's just about less players on the 2020 servers? 🤷♀️. Cheers Southern Hemisphere No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower! November 26, 20241 yr No real problems for me. I lost azure speech yesterday but it was back today. Seemed like longer than usual loading time today, but with AIG it’s always a bit long. completely smooth flight as usual, had to lower res from 4k when at DCA, ORBX airport I think, because of heavy AI activity, but still very playable even there. I have put aside any thinking about 2024 and just enjoying flying what I have because 2020 it’s so good.
November 26, 20241 yr Azure went down 3 days in a row - no issue today. Clicking "Fly" has cost me about 4 CTDs - I don't know what's happening there as I hadn't had any crashes in a long, long time. Once I was on the tarmac all worked fine. Randall Rocke
November 26, 20241 yr Fine here as well. Flew HKJK - HAAB in iFly's Max and everything worked perfectly.
November 26, 20241 yr Actually, it’s never worked better than it does now! There’s been a huge improvement in the Greater London photogrammetry. Not a single melted building or structure in sight - love it! November 26, 20241 yr Yea same for me. I've flown on mainly add on airliners every day over the launch period, USA, canada and Europe. 1 x CTD with a Fenix A319 over Germany (Fenix planes never normally crash for me). But otherwise as good as it's ever been - slight stutter coming into PG areas as normal, but otherwise looks and feels just great. With Atmos and Active Sky the difference from FS24 doesn't seem that much atm - just with better perfomance.

November 26, 20241 yr There were some initial issues in parallel to the '24 launch with weather and texture loading but now it works great. I also noticed crisper ground textures. Maybe it's placebo, maybe it's real. No issues at all - will be a at least a few months before I switch to '24 (though I do have it installed) and until then I'm loving my '20.
November 26, 20241 yr Just did a satisfying short flight with the A310. All well. Edited November 26, 20241 yr by History DA B760M PRO4 | i5-13400F | RTX 3060 12 GB | G.Skills Ripjaws 32GB | MSI MAG A550BN | Ace Power 1 TB NVMe | Cooler Master Hyper 212

November 26, 20241 yr Note: MSFS2024 NOT installed yet. Two days ago, MSFS2020 wouldn't start. I had to do a repair in both the Xbox app and MSFS to get it to run - first time in four years Once it started to load, I could see I was in trouble as it was asking for the location and had C: drive as default. I pointed it towards the F drive where it has always been (I confirmed the Community and Official folders were there and fully intact). Once loaded, all of my settings, controllers, cameras, even the sim settings, had gone. It was back to vanilla. Even my hours in the sim had been reset to zero (had been a few hundreds). I had lost my logbook before, but this is the first time it has lost everything - devastating! As you know, it can take a long time to set back up. This has always been one of the biggest issues with MSFS. Users have been asking for some time for a way of backing up these settings, but apparently they are mainly stored in the cloud, and once they are gone, they are gone. Not sure if there is any cross-over with the 2024 server thing - can't prove it, so maybe just coincidental? Anyway, as I am really disappointed with it all lately, I have decided not to waste any more time on it, and money on addons etc. I have most of the top add-ons you can think of like the Fenix, PMDG 737's etc., I have spent thousands actually, but I will waste no more while this is capable of happening. I may install 2024 eventually when reports say it is more solid, but until then, I have enjoyed the ride, but I have other things to occupy me. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
