Very unhappy with the aircraft displays are dead and unflyable from the start, and their customer service is rude and not helpful.

Indeed they are different, and their 'support' is always on the verge of being cocky/annoying, or they decide to not provide support at all - my case.

  • As someone who flies the A320 family IRL, worked with Fenix, and also was privileged enough to be given a pre-release copy of FSL to stream, i can give a somewhat balanced view/opinion. Firstly,

There has always been a somewhat elitist and self-opionated attitude of Lefteris, also shown in that malware story. This and the loooooooooong and completely silent development times have already been annoying in P3D. Now in MSFS with the Fenix team being the exact opposite, it's just not acceptable anymore. RSR gets the flak for similar behaviour for years now on MSFS

You’d think with a product for serious simmers you’d be way more open with the community - especially hardware makers, but alas.

Well, a potential buyer asked something similar on the FSL forum but since he is not a customer yet, no access to MSFS section, he won't get a reply.

that's so messed up...

Luckily i received a support email yesterday from them (Was about to Paypal resolution next week if no response was to come) anyway all fixed an no complaints on it so far. Inop faults on by default and the ability to clean the windshield which becomes dirty over flights. Accelerated knob KIAS/ALT feature is there too so it's not so bad on the mouse wheel. Everything else is how Katiepilot describes it and does feel/acts like the P3D model (Not Leonardo level though). Texture better than inbuilds not quite Fenix level however if you have the Fenix and use WinWing addon issue id stay with them.

1 thing Developers when you do a A319 please make a Skytraders livery. If so, that would be a instabuy.

They've always been slow, and the communications are generally lacking and blunt since P3D days. It seems nothing has changed. Here's to hoping they can improve somewhat. Even PMDG has changed a lot and communicates a hell lot more these days. Silence is not well tolerated by the community these days, and I wish them luck. Here's hoping Fenix will come out with a NEO.

They won't be able to sell expensive hardware interfaces like they did for Skalarki gear in P3D if they gave it away for free.

In P3D it was US$160 for me to get my skalarki MCDU and FCU to work with the FSL line.  Fenix in MSFS....free.

Another nail in the coffin for me buying anything from FSL in MSFS.

Did you select MCDU Menu/Options/Page 3 Displays/Self Test Delay? Or the other Not found error?

I rather think they haven’t even thought about the new reality with MSFS and winwing hardware. They are stuck in P3D times in their minds, just look at that „you can’t use the product after a MSFS update until we explicitly allow it“ rubbish

Likely due to the endless false information presented by “elitist” consumers and thieves and the fact he and his team actually coded the software and created the product … ya think?  The accuracy of information on this site and others (not specific to AVSIM) has deteriorated so much that actual software engineers no longer engage.

There are some people here going on about “relationships” with the CPU and GPU having absolutely NO IDEA what he/she/it is talking about out and then 7 or so people upvoting he/she/it.  The blind leading the blind.

The basic context is “I have not used or ever tried XYZ (be it software, car, etc.), but I have an opinion and must be heard” … welcome to the internet of utter BS.  Part of the “I have a right to lie or else it’s Tyranny” group which seem to be a majority now.

Some websites/forums are starting to get a clue with reviews, identify poster as “verified purchase” and taking that one step further, number of hours/days/weeks/years of usage from the poster.  PMDG used to require real names, but the world of BS didn’t like that … privacy to lie group.

As I’ve said many times thru my many years of software development/management … garbage in = garbage out … the future of AI is going to have a struggle siphoning all the garbage to get to actual facts.

The progress entitlement of “customers” over a $70 product is mind boggling … the irony is you folks are sealing your own fate and killing an industry that is trying to provide options and do better for all … well XYZ does this for free so therefore everyone should work for free … good luck with that, I’m sure everyone here is willing to not get paid for doing work … or that strictly a one-way street?

Competition is competition.  Fsl used to be the only high end Airbus.  They aren’t anymore.  Couple that with their many and varied issues, behavior and quirks over the years, they better think about providing some of those things you think are bs or be left in the dust.  I’m happy not buying fsl because the options are better.  I look forward to the day we have the same situation in the Boeing corner.

1) So... is your argumentation "Some elitist consumers and thieves [??] have treated the FSL guys poorly on the internet, therefore they've become elitist themselves and will do rude support to people that bought the product and have problems with it - or no support at all"? Does that really make sense in your world?

2) What industry is being "killed"? If you had left your FSL forum a couple of times in the last 4 years you would have noticed that the industry is on an all-time high. Fenix and PMDG (even with all of their problems) are thriving. FSL is the only one who gets "killed", if at all, and this is purely because they are stuck in the year of 2019 in almost every aspect (development speed, communications, support, visuals/audio of their products, hardware support, the installer tool etc.).

EDIT: I want to apologize in advance for how this topic went and my contribution to it. I'll leave this topic now, becoming a silent reader only, so hopefully people can get back to reviewing the actual product.

Stick with Fenix, better company to deal with.

(Slightly off topic here) Fslabs really needs to reconsider on how they interact with customers/potential customers - if they continue to keep their mind set from P3D days then it is likely it won't get them anywhere. The way they interact with their customers is also unacceptable, Few years ago - I had reported a bug in their Airbus on their forums but my post got modified with reported bug deleted and no one bothered to reply to my ticket either. Fslabs maybe don't realise this but they are facing strong competition from other competitors, Not only they are asking to pay more for less variants but then treating customers horribly. A little customer service really makes that difference - That is reason why people like Fenix, The developers really listen and interact with customers.

Beyond them being a day late and a dollar short - everyone should read this comment and ask “is this the type of customer service experience I’d want for <my mom, my brother, my friend, etc.>” and make your decisions accordingly.

In P3D, I made a trade-off - living with the abysmal attitude of the dev, and in trade a very nice but very expensive airplane (best in that sim).
Now? Not so essential, pal.
