BATC Traffic coming to all users imminently

As other said: You did not disable default traffic correctly. FSLTL doesn‘t even have GA aircraft, so what you see are default traffic models

Already responded with approval (like) yesterday  for instructions meaning I've followed the instructions and it works. No need to respond further. Thanks.

  • I love the progress. Keep in mind it's only half a year old. They've come a long way since the beginning

  • I can vouch for the BATC traffic, it's nice. It can use FSLTL, AIG and FSTraffic models if you have any of them installed.

Yes, it all has pros and cons. At the same time - if you're at an airport scenery that does not reflect real life (try KORD and report back) you will see aircraft taxi in the grass where taxiways have

Someone already tried the AIG updated models in 2024 with BATC? Just found out the new beta on their discord.

I did. Just updated and did a test.

Default EHAM + Inibuilds A320 + BeyondATC with AIG from 100 to 50 fps.

Default EHAM + Inibuilds A320 + BeyondATC with FSLTL from 100 still around 100 fps.

Thanks for the comparison, so it seems that for BATC, the way to go is using FSLTL as primary source and AIG as secondary source. I wonder if this really works and BATC is then really taking AIG models if FSLTL is not providing something...

BTW: what GPU do you use? It looks like you are hammering your VRAM full, no?

I didn't test it with having both FSLTL and AIG installed and set the priority in BeyondATC settings. VRAM was in this case not yet the limit. I also use a 4080. But it's getting close and I have set resolution to high. Can't use ultra with airliners, payware scenery and ai traffic.

EDIT
Perhaps this link might work for a day or two: https://www.transfernow.net/dl/20241217OwCskAcA

Thanks! The Discord link just didn’t work for me at all

I have it now as this. Both FSLTL & AIG models with priority set in BeyondATC.

Fenix A320, Inibuilds EGLL, AIG+FSLTL, GSX, BeyondATC. Switched of HDR10 for screenshot. Looks like AI mostly increases RAM usage.

What I do find interesting is that in the MSFS performance tools only 2 or 3 GB RAM is added when the AI traffic is loaded. But when you look at the RAM figure in Rivatuner OSD, at lot more RAM usage is increased:

Also the frametime becomes not smooth with AI traffic, but this can be solved by limiting fps in rivatuner.

I hit my first bump in the road with BATC today. Tried it with FS2024 (Been getting used to it on FS2020) and zero traffic appeared. I was linking my FSLTL model folder to FS2024, which works fine with FS2020.

To cut a long story short, it seems that only 4K FSLTL model textures work with FS2024. There are multiple mentions of it on their Discord.

That is a pity because the reduction from 4K to 2K gives me a good performance boost, especially when flying into the likes of Heathrow.

For comparison I tried AIG. Much, much later (those downloads take forever!). Same result. 2K textures don't seem to work.

Suffered the download again (European liveries only) and 4K models did appear in FS2024.

I have no idea why this should be the case. I note the "FSLTL only support 4K textures and hence so do we" posts on BATC Discord so I guess thats just the way it is.

I do think I have not resized the FSLTL textures. But in AIG manager I have the 2048x textures box ticked from the start. Used it in MSFS2020 and now in MSFS2024 and is working for me. Make sure you followed all the steps in the AIG website for MSFS 2024.

This is a long thread so humour me:  is BATC traffic only for 2024? Thanks.

No.  It works fine with FS2020.

Did you update the “layout.json” file after you had reduced the file sizes? Apparently MSFS2024 is very particular about having correct sizes in that file (unlike MSFS2020) which may explain why it works in one but not the other.

Do you know how to do this? I had the same problem after reducing the texture size for 2024...
