That was a huge list, it gives me hope that the game will be playable for me after SU2 when I plan to switch over from 2020.

On the ground? Yes, if neither are using custom scenery, MSFS 2024 looks 7 years more advanced than MSFS 2020 on the ground.

isn't it a flight simulator though?

this seems like an oddly specific metric

2020 looks good, of course it does, but 2024 is far better in many ways - a worthy successor.

I'm sure, but the claim was "absolutely no comparison"

We have to live with it unfortunately.

what better alternatives would you suggest? for me there is none, despite some issues, in light of all the great improvements, to quote that popular song:

Solo Hay Una Para Mi

Para mí solamente estás tú

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

What a mess.  A true regression for me.

Anyone else having the issue where PG looks so bad and blurry?

One thing is for sure, they are working very hard, but they are overwhelmed because there is so much work to do.
It looks like they are missing some of the 'promised' features for this patch, so hopefully they can release another one before everyone breaks for the Christmas holiday.

Nobody should be surprised by any of this should they?  This is how Asobo have operated for the last 4+ years...  Fix some things but break others, fix some things that we didn't know were broken but miss ones really needed, fix things not even mentioned on the change log...  It is just their pattern.  We have to live with it unfortunately.

I actually think it is creating tension between Jorg / MS and Asobo, but what can you do?  No good starting again with another franchise.  We just have to work with what we have, but it certainly isn't a good situation currently.  I think this will take a good year to get it to the stability we had with 2020, and on top of that, of course we all know flight simulators are never completely finished anyway.

Another franchise?  If X-Plane could handle third party ATC and AI traffic, and have reliable ortho the world over, streamed (I know there is an app for this), then I'd move in a heartbeat

Yes, but there is bush flying and helicopter flying for a flight simulator. One of the activities in MSFS 2024 is even crop dusting with a plane. In general, low level flight is so much better with MSFS 2024 because the ground scenery looks so much better.

Let's be clear, low level flying looks better as long as you steer clear of any built up area's! So grass, rocks, trees (though way to many) do look better, but venture into somewhere like Las Vegas and it is no different  to MSFS2020 and looks terrible. Trying to land helicopters on buildings with helipads is broken also.

Should note they have improved the airport night lighting substantially.

The change log reads like a Day 1 Patch in many respects, I've seen this mentioned elsewhere and tend to agree with it.

Still the blatant disregard for VR fixes is simply laughable, they've been struggling with mouse and UI issues for years in this respect so it's no surprise they're still bad at this, it's just simply at this stage🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

What resolution?
I have a lesser config and I get 50-60 fps on the ground and 80 fps airborne with FG and the 737 Max. 3440x1440 - Ultra preset - DLSS/DLAA (NO ghosting/blur on glass screens)

4K, but before this update I had a stable 60-70 FPS at the same settings.

EDIT: Ok looks like the problem is just on Liverpool Airport EGGP.

Hah, and I could have sworn they are shorter.

my loading times appear to be the same as they were before the patch. But I've never actually timed it.
