December 21, 20241 yr So, 15 service updates to MSFS2020 and still people complain about it. And yet they expected MSFS2024 to be perfect straight out of the box and demanded a refund when it wasn't all they wanted it to be. No one said "perfect", I (for one) just expected it to be of the same quality as MSFS2020 @ SU15 not a major step backwards to something like the SU5/6/7 era. The idea is, when releasing a follow up product, is for it to be the same if not better than the original. Which in many aspects MSFS24 is better, but it's painfully clear that it's broken in far too many other areas where it shouldn't be - that's the annoyance with it all. I mean ask yourself, why is it Asobo can't code simple Mouse & UI Elements after all these years? Are they incapable? Do they lack the talent? Do they treat this like another one of their Disney Games that got them this gig in the first place? Aside a few members of the team are they really that interested in Flight Simulation? Or is it "just a job" to some of them? In contrast I'd say a vast majority of Sim Racing developers all love car racing, I just don't see similar with Asobo when it comes to Flight Simulation. Ultimately I just don't think they're good enough, they're the Tottenham of the Software Premier League, always have so much promise and can be excellent at times but then they go and Spursy themselves up a long the way. When a large percentage of reviews say that the product is worthless, has tons of problems, doesn't work as expected, etc..etc.. Guess what, I don't buy it. Saves me a great deal of grief. Same goes for software. I have been using 2024 for the last two weeks with good results, but there are some caveats. I do not use VR, sim ATC, sim AI (autogenerated or Live Traffic) or multiplayer. I never used those features in 2020 either, as I have no VR hardware, and absolutely no interest in any kind of automated ATC or AI. I do enjoy using VATSIM, with FSTL for model matching, but have not yet tried it in 2024. I have been using the inibuilds A320N and A321N and Longitude primarily. There is a bug in the Longitude where the landing and taxi lights do not work at night. WT knows what causes that, but it is a core sim issue that Asobo has to address. There is a WASM bug that affects the IniBuilds aircraft (or any WASM aircraft) that causes the sim to freeze when exiting at the end of a completed flight. The cause has been identified and a fix will be in the next sim patch. I may someday try some of the missions or career mode stuff, but I really don’t have much interest at this time, and would not bother with them (yet) even if they all worked perfectly. TL:DR All my flights so far have been in FreeFlight mode, and I have had no serious issues whatsoever. No CTDs, no graphics anomalies and no major stutters. December 21, 20241 yr 2024 is the typical unfinished hoax that the industry has been accustomed to for a few years now, so there's no need to give it much more thought. The fault is ours as consumers who swallow everything.

December 21, 20241 yr I’m in between two stalls now. I don’t want to return to MSFS2020 because I feel it’s regressing based on what the future holds but word not allowed Microsobo you really messed up peoples’ expectations with MSFS2024. Anyone in their right mind knew how broken it was on release and yet you went ahead with it anyway. I’m currently sitting out on both sims as my enthusiasm has since reduced. I’ll be back in the new year post some MSFS24 updates and maybe just maybe it’ll be ok.

Yes, and that's exactly what I don't want to be part of anymore.. They should have finished it more and released it later, you feel like you've been taken for a ride and I don't think that's OK! Everyone thought it would be more finished but that they expect the community to do something like MSFS2020 again is a strong piece and that's not right !!! cheers 🤔 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.

I think and I don't want to speak for @filou here but 2020 was the "first" in the ASOBO MSFS franchise. It was version 0 and we were all day 0 testers. Yes, it had been in development for years prior but it was truly a 1.0 release. MSFS24 is the 2nd iteration of the franchise and as such should have "built" upon the 2020 foundation and at least picked up where it left off in terms of features/functionality and even advertised backwards compatibility with 2020 add-ons indicating a fair amount of carry over. Now credit where credit is due, 2024 is also a 1.0 release from the 100% streaming aspect but aside from that people expected the SDK to be ready, the add-ons to actually be compatible, marketplace to be available, UUI changes to make sense and not remove functionality aka traffic densities being linked and under graphics rather than a simple traffic slider etc etc. One thing people NEVER want to see at any time in a follow up release is regression in any way. I am also not saying the entire sim is a regression in any way, please do not spin my words people but "aspects" of it like I described above just weren't thought out, tested and available. It's a reality with flight sims unfortunately and a lot of us expected this very outcome despite being told otherwise by Asobo/MS themselves and a certain bloke here who has been absent since release day but it is a regression albeit temporary nonetheless. That's my .02 on what is a different context, not even worth a 1/2 pence 😉 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
