December 18, 20241 yr I'm stepping away from 24 for a bit. I did a test long haul in the premium a306 and it CTDd 3/4 through the flight. Last night I lost an engine with it. There is a chance it's a thing with ENG 1/2 switches bound to the Bravo switches, but whatever weirdnesses in the sim, I've found all the INI planes are extra susceptable to glitches in the SIM. I've also been getting more CTDs on launch. I keep the Community folder verry clean in 24. As others mentioned the Fenix flies great in 2024, as does the RJ. But I think I need to pause my involvement until the next patch, or even SU1. I am very bullish on the future of MSFS24, but the last week of various issues has run me down.

Did MS hold a gun to the customers head and demanded them to buy MS2024 NO. Did they hyped up a new version of MSFS and said everything would be all good and dandy on release (persuaded them to buy) and the gullible souls fell for it? Absolutely. Like I said no pity from me if people are struggling with the new version of MSFS. Edited December 18, 20241 yr by JBDB-MD80
December 19, 20241 yr I don't think anyone is seeking your pity, I would imagine/hope even those who ordered a physical version of the product were/are entitled to a refund. So I doubt there are any/many unwilling owners of the product.

There is a reasonable expectation that when you buy something - whatever it is - it will perform as described / expected. That’s not being gullible. The fault does not lie with those who made the purchase and then experienced a nightmare trying to run it. The fault lies entirely with the company who released software and its underlying support hardware. In my opinion Asobo didn’t want to release it. But the bean counters at Microsoft clearly had Christmas in their mind releasing it when they did. Ray (Cheshire, England). It's not the first time it's happened and it won't be the last. But the big difference between this release and all the others from Microsoft is this is the first fully streamed. Brave or flawed? I agree with this statement 100% but in the case of MSFS, it is hard to ignore the last 4 years. I did not buy 2024 because there was reasonable probability that it wouldn’t work as expected. But that doesn’t make it acceptable. It’s deplorable that Microsoft knew it had flaws and released it anyway. At least tell your audience the truth… that it’s a work in progress.

If they ignored the warnings from the tech side they were extremely negligent and it should have been those people facing the wrath of annoyed customers, not the poor buggers at Asobo and the techs at Microsoft. They now need to repair their reputation asap. Hopefully the critical bugs can be ironed out before the log Christmas / New Year break. Another reason why releasing software in November is foolhardy. December 19, 20241 yr "To the delight of their detractors, they would have had to change the title to 'Flight Simulator 2025'." I like the sound of MSFS 2025 better, they should have done that anyways!
