First time I think I've ever gotten all the way through a flightsim related yootoob. Good to see somewhere where all words are allowed!

Although I'm using 2024 a lot and am enjoying it immensely I wouldn't argue with the overall verdict. I only ever use free flight and even that is not without its problems. It does look absolutely wonderful, but the "popping" of objects grates, and the PG is a very mixed bag - mostly a lot better than 2020 in my eyes but the PG trees - oh the horror, the horror!

Shame folks aren't talking it all a bit more calmly though, but here we are, it's almost 2025 and that's the way of the world now.

Those of us commenting on the state of the sim are pretty mild mannered about it, but the diehard "MS/Asobo can do no wrong" are absolutely triggered by any negativity directed towards this train wreck. These are the same people shouting anyone down if you say anything they do not agree with. I am not impressed, but mildly entertained!

Reggie the reviewer with the most charming Cockney Accent is spot on in this review and if you listen to it I’m sure you’ll agree.  He gave it a 4 out of 10 with great reservation and I will agree 100%.

If I came into this forum and said how wonderful I think 2024 and I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, I'm sure I would get this treatment and be told how little I know about sims.

Let's just be balanced about this.

David Porrett

What a great honest, amusing and well balanced review.

They shouldn’t be taking money off punters now when the product is months, maybe years away from being ready for public consumption - he’s absolutely right about that.

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

I haven't watched the video yet.

But I had a GREAT run in 2020.  And I'm starting to enjoy 2024 more. Especially with this latest patch.

There are also some great tweaks showing up at flightsim.to

And!  Me and TimHH have finally been able to start painting - so expect some high quality GA bizjet and bizprop paints eventually!

I'm happy for the people still using 2020- good for you!  I've happily moved on to 2024!

LOL. Well actually we'd probably just walk slowly by and hope you didn't notice us!

Okay can you give one example of me doing that? Or anyone else doing that? Because if you like the sim, that's awesome. Why would I or anyone else attack you for it? No, the people offended by those of us pointing out the obvious are the intolerant triggered few. Not us!

It is a clickbait title but I guess that's what it takes to get a video noticed. He picks on some things like marketplace which we were already told wouldn't be available for a while, but overall not a bad video. I personally think he is too hard on the developers, but that's his opinion. I only use 2020, and probably will for quite a while seeing where 2024 is now, but I fully support Asobo and bought 2024 premium version which I don't regret. FS2024 is too easy of a target today and I won't be joining the detractors.

Erm…..

Comments that I’ve seen from people being mild mannered about the state of the sim have included ‘Disaster, debacle, disgusting, pathetic, they should be ashamed, heads should roll, this is the end of the franchise, they’ve killed the hobby, they’ve insulted the whole community, people enjoying the sim are apologists, enablers, bootlickers, kool-aid drinkers etc. etc.

At least three of those were said by you yourself, so I’d be interested to know what kind of language you’d evaluate as ‘irritated’ or even ‘’borderline unsettled’ if the above are mild mannered.

You are just triggered by comments that do not line up with your apologist, enabling, bootlicking, kool-aid drinking love for MSFS 2024. Oh wait. 🤣

You called me a kool-aid drinker for liking the sim.

The guy was funny!  I enjoyed the video.  Some people take it too personally. Remember, it's entertainment, a game...and I must say, he's absolutely right. MSFS was released in a buggy mess.  I'm sure things will get better. I hope so, or the $130 for the Premium Deluxe Ed that included a nice lanyard and lovely boxset(lol) I paid for will be a total waste of $$$.

To each his own opinion. The money I spent on msfs2024 I consider to be well spent. Since 2024 came out I have flown 2020 only twice because it is so much less enjoyable to me than than the 100+ flights in 2024.

What bugs me the most about 2020 are long sim loading times. Long flight loading times. Dull scenery textures. Always bright Spring colors, instead of properly realistic Fall and Winter drabness for choice when you choose flights in that season.  Other 2020 faults: objects popping in and out. Shimmering. Stuttering.

I think my opinion would be almost unanimous if you were seeing what I am seeing. But you are seeing something entirely different. 2024 looks and behaves differently on your system than it does on mine. I have no clue why this is.
