I think that the OP and many others who obsess about visual errors m deficiencies in MSFS would be absolutely shocked if they ever got in a real simulator, meaning a level C or D device.  These are mu

This is what MSFS looks like at TLOD 205,  10 miles out from Washington National, clear skies, 13:58, photogrammetry on, about 2500 feet above ground.

I'd like to emphasize what @Stearmandriver mentioned. In terms of certain visual aspects, MSFS is far ahead of LEVEL D simulators. Unfortunately, there are issues documented in many forums and raised by numerous customers concerning significant visual problems since 2020 and persisting into 2024. One would expect these nuances to be fixed or at least improved. @Huascar is correct in many ways, but as he noted, many are unwilling to accept reality. This is quite puzzling; we should unite, highlight bugs, and work toward improving this game/simulator instead of engaging in conflict.
I attached three pictures: one from the real airplane inbound to BOS for runway 4, one from 2020 where the graphics are much better, and the last one from 2024 where you can notice issues.

Front view, clear skies, no horizon, triangulated trees, melting buildings, TLOD set to 250.

I tried 2024 as well, little difference in image quality.

But I love surprises, maybe someone can share better views with identical parameters (but remember this: frontal view from the cockpit, clear skies, photogrammetry on - let's start with that)

That was the central motive of my original post. We should not settle for poor quality visuals. The lighting in both sims is terrible, and the rendering of objects and terrain from large distances is dismal.

I rest my case.  Finally a voice of reason in @LRBS

Bearing in mind you told someone to go sleep with their sim if they like it so much, what reactions you’re getting would you say are visceral?

I have to admit it was a test of how far I could go.

Sorry to disappoint you. It's not entirely correct. There are many days when it is clear, with no clouds and no haze for hundreds of miles.

I do agree with you, and there are several posts throughout time on this forum pointing out issues with photogrammetry. Some of them are due to a bad source data (see, Brazil which will see changes upcoming), and some of it due to "lol, photogrammetry"

That said, it is not up to us to post something that may, or may not, prove Huscar's point. He did post a screenshot of what he saw which is a point for discussion. I downloaded it to zoom in. If the point is things 10 miles away look blurry, well maybe it's my eyes but I stand on the upper level of a skyscraper and look over the city, things 10 miles away are, well, blurry. He doesn't like it and I'm sorry he doesn't like it, because hobbies are meant to be enjoyed.

I did fly over the area he did earlier at around the time setting in 24. I took some video but AutoFPS was doing its thing since I forgot to close it. My TLOD/OLD were much lower than his, but I liked the results. I don't really care if anyone is happy/unhappy/disbelieving I liked the results.

I don't have any skin in the game if anyone is happy or unhappy with the graphics in the sim of their choice. I don't care if they think FS24 is a blight on humanity and a review of my posting history should reveal I am far from a FS24 water carrier. That said, I had fun flying over DCA in 24 giving the Secret Service and the FAA fits, and I'm having fun right now flying from DEN-JAC. I'm not going to post anything to show why I'm having fun. If people don't like I am enjoying flying right now in 24, that's a them problem; not a see problem/

I remember landing at Newark during a clear day in the Fall with low humidity. I think I was able to see my horizon for hundreds of miles. In all fairness, I can’t expect a simulator to do allow me the same privilege, but Asobo can do better with lightning and the distant horizon.
