MSFS2024 what does it really have to offer?

Featured Replies

Question, if 2024 is so good, how come according to steam users, there has been a dramatic drop in people using it in the past two months?

Beating the old horse again.LOL  Most people who express their opinion don't own 2024 or already got refund LOL MSFS 2024 provides better visuals, weather, seasons, flight model out of the box. I'm one of user who don't have stutter, blurry textures or singnificant performance issues. I use wide range of airplanes from airliners to GA. So my statement above apply to all of them. On the other hand there are still plenty of bugs with career and many stock aircraft . But if you use Free Flight options and 3rd party add on your experience will be exactly like in 2020.

Also worth to mentioned I transferred near all content from 2020 market place to 2024. With rare exception like KRDD 99% of airport that I purchased for 2020 work in 2024

Here are my stutter free settings for for I9 13900KF, RTX4090, 64G RAM As far I concern I do better performance wise than in 2020

Well, it depends on how you use the sim, I suppose. Funny thing is that a lot of problems have to do with the career mode which is often frowned upon because it's a gamification. Apparently a lot of simmers want to use it anyway.

Free flight works perfectly fine for me. I only fly the Vision Jet though (and sometimes tje Joby, which is fun!). Yes, there are bugs and some can be annoying but not annoying enough for me personally to reinstall MSFS2020 again. Of course I do hope those bugs will be fixed: if I knew for a fact MS Asobo wouldn't fix anything anymore I might reconsider going back to 2020... but I am 100% sure things will be fixed in due time. And while awaiting those fixes I keep on enjoying MSFS2024. Because what it does well, it does really well and imho better than MSFS2020.

Now obviously everyone is free to keep on using MSFS2020: my 'problem' here is that a lot of those 'I-am-back-to-2020'-simmers are very vocal and apparently have a deep need to spread their decision for some reason everywhere they go. And the funny thing is that we all know that all those 2020-returners will be using MSFS2024 within a year anyway... so in the end they are all making a fool of themselves. I do wonder if they also will be so vocal when they finally get back to MSFS2024.

And I received a Timeout here on Avsim for expressing this very same sentiment! UhOh!

I made the wrong people cry.

You see a lot of it on facebook and its something I call the 2020 insecurity. The fact that there are people on Avsim raging over Asobo putting out a hotfix that actually fixed something tells you all you need to know.

🤣 You do make me laugh, try actually reading the posts you're referring too and get an understanding of software testing practices then join the conversation properly, remember some of us actually have experience of this...

Personally I'm tired of this kind of threads.
It's always the same ones who spit their venom when they don't have or no longer have MSFS 2024.
I understand that they are frustrated not to be able to appreciate this new simulator while others are delighted.
But that's no reason to constantly p...ss us off on this forum.
Seriously guys!
Go have fun with your children/dogs/cats/wife(s), stuffed animals/cars, trucks/flying saucers and leave us alone.
It's only been 2 months since 2024 was released, there are a significant number of bugs, that's for sure, but this new simulator is superb and it will become more and more so.
Let us enjoy the visual pleasure of sumptuous storms, dazzling sunsets, threatening clouds in the mountains.
Let us enjoy an operational simulator after 2 minutes, let us have fun with the impressive number of aircraft available by default, and above all, let us enjoy a smooth and reliable simulator.

Continue flying with MSFS, it's your right and it's a great simulator.
But don't look down on 2024. Some, and I think the vast majority, are happy to no longer have CTDs as soon as they overclock their PC, are happy to be able to take off and land from major airports without the frustration of a slideshow.
Rehashing the same complaints all day is tiring for you and for us, so please grow up a little and stop whining.

Not going back to 2020 since I never left. Use it 90% of the time.

Lots of great new and or better things in 2024.

Just waiting for it to stabilize and for my addon planes to work as they should.

Will switch to 2024 once the addon planes and GSX integration is working perfectly or close too.

Nighttime visuals seem a little overdone in 2024, but I prefer to fly in the daytime anyway. Visual are just too good to waste time flying at night.

What I have seen so far in 2024 I liked.

Flew thew Avro RJ from Justflight all weekend in 2024 and that was an absolute pleasure.

MSFS 2024 was supposed to deliver faster loading times & performance, better weather visuals, and upgraded terrain. It seems that it's a better vfr sim for bush flyers. Since you fly airliners, then you should stick with 2020 until the new sim matures. This could take years.

MSFS 2020, with the right add-ons, CAN BE the best flight simulator ever created. Maybe GSX Pro is a better investment if you don't already have it.

I'll add this video:

I'd echo this. It's not for not wanting to try 2024. I have 2024 with the X Box Game Pass. But I cannot make any headway with 2024. Partly it's because of my Internet which is medieval, but I can barely get even a GA plane started. Shame really, I would really like to have got 2024 working, but 2020 right now is fantastic - with Atmos, Rex AS, Bing maps, FSTL, GSX and all my airliners ... so not at all complaining. The sad thing about 2024 is it's really not a direct upgrade to 2020 for me. It seems to have some advantages, and it's great for those who can get it working for them - it can look fantastic. I'm stuck right now but I'm not too unhappy.

A successful game or app typically has a retention rate of 30–40% on day one, about 20% on day seven, and 5–10% on day 30. Player retention is the percentage of users who remain active within a specific time frame after purchasing or downloading a game. Games with high retention rates are generally more successful than those with low retention rates.

Some factors that can contribute to player drop-out in massively multiplayer online games include: Latency or performance issues and In-game features.

According to MIDiA Research, 53% of gamers prefer single-player games.

I don't know.... Maybe FS2024  is doing pretty good?

Just give it a try for 1$. I went for a monthly subscription then bought the standard edition and don’t regret it.

Seems to be a thing in here for the serious stalwarts to state 'maybe' stuff, stuff thats dependent on many factors as if it's absolute fact
