Yeah, there are several on this site that are toxic, annoying, bitter or stuck in their own ways. 2024 annoys the heck out of me and I hardly use it for right now. I am glad I kept 2020. But giving it time is best...2024 will get better despite the naysayers.

Yeah, thats on the moderators to start banning people or shutting them up.....or the "ignore" button.

No, you're not guilty, Cpt Piett. There are trolls and people who really push people's buttons on these topics. 2024 vs 2020 is like children arguing over crayons.

There are legitimate complaints and criticisms towards either/or but not enough to warrant someone annoying you online.

There are Several on my "ignore" list and I couldn't be happier. When I check my ignore list a few days ago, it seems several of the people I "ignored" are no longer members here.

You and I chatted about a few. Some are completely gone, apparently. Good riddance.

Well, one big difference is that 2020 and 24 need to share the same forum, which I think makes it a lot bigger issue than the past (I don't recall past MSFS forums doing that).  i'm not complaining about that specifically, I actually think it makes sense with all the overlap from addons (things being released for both sims, etc).

The versus discussions always happened, but not on this scale.  

An ignore list only goes so far.  My ignore list here is comically large now and it actually makes the place hard to read.  It makes discussions randomly pop up with no context (because of the ignored users).  It is like trying to read a newspaper with all the articles cut out.  Ignore enough people and the discussion just gets lost.  I think I'm ignoring half the active users here and I don't think that makes sense.  

A comment about separate forums for 20 and 24 has been hidden by the site administrator. No more discussion on that please. Any further posts will be hidden.

I fondly remember the amusing times when we used to get teenage flight simmers pretending to be real world airline pilots on these and other sim forums, until they were inevitably rumbled as fakes.

(However,I’ve managed to bluff it out for the past 20 years and no ones noticed 😉)

It comes down to mans natural tendency toward tribalism. My sim, team, state. town, church etc. is better then yours. I laugh at some folks around where I live who argue over who's going to win the Carolina- Clemson rivalry game this year. A lot of them never set foot in a college class room defending the honor of a school they never attended😂 They say things like "you ain't got a chance this year cause we gonna stomp ya. You would think they played on the team.

For several years the Pickens and Easley High Schools weren't allowed to play each other because of the trouble that would break out at games. We're talking about two rural and cotton mill towns about nine miles apart, people of the same culture, vocations, religion and backgrounds getting deadly violent over High School football.

It's the fallen nature of man. Not changing any time soon.
