New Nvidia Drivers 572.83

Featured Replies

As for me, installed OK but super annoyed that NV force installed the App. I don't want the app, don't need the app but now I have the app. Maybe I missed a checkbox, but they certainly did not make it obvious. The app is buggy and cr@pware, nothing more, nothing less. Also super annoying, the app is defaulted to optimise games. So if you are not careful, and uncheck the relevant boxes, all your carefully tuned settings get nuked.

Driver seems fine in MS2020 though. The advice to not install new GPU drivers unless there is documented benefit to the sim is usually wise (don't fix something that is not broken) but keep in mind that this DLSS4 stuff (and the rubbish NV app) is in it's infancy and NV are improving/debugging with these driver releases, so updating the GPU driver regularly makes sense if you are taking advantage of FG and DLSS "tech", and/or running a 5000 series card.

This is how I'm setup.

Curious why you use Preset D for DLSS-RR? I have this at default. The rest of my settings mirror yours mostly.

  • NVCleaninstall did a great job.  This is the second time I've used it and it alerts me to new drivers on my desktop  and installs them flawlessly.  Thanks to Ray Proudfoot for recommending this method

  • They don't seem to be getting positive feedback and the critical black screen bug has not been fixed either.  Looks like most are advising to give these a miss.

Many thanks - I'll check things on my (updated) Inspector. :)

Hi,

I'm still testing, things may still change. D is suppose to deliver improved image stability at the risk of adding in some ghosting. Right now I'm looking for ghosting effect and stability.

I'd be keen to find out if switching from D to K helps. The FBW A320 seems to be especially bad in this department.

BTW: Applied all your settings with no adverse effects :)

Nevers helps flightsim - nothing new here - been like this for many years - Nvidia could care less 😍

You mean couldn't, right?

And that's incorrect because there have been 2 driver releases specifically for support of MSFS in the last few years. This isn't the FSX/P3D era anymore.

Duly grabbed (thanks) - but the DLSS-related settings appear very different to previous versions - does anyone know what they're supposed to be now?

Exactly the same as in IanRivaldoSmith's definitive guide (if you don't have a certain line, don't worry about it, some gpu cards can't do as much as others).

But first, before anything else:

Nvidia app, Graphics, microsoftmsfs2024, Driver Settings, DLSS Overide-model presets, "Use different settings...", Frame Generation: ==> set this to: Latest.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

The latest nvidia inspector 2-4-0-8-18 doesn't have those options, or they've been renamed.

i7 12700K , DDR4 64GB RAM @3600MHz, Asus Z690-Plus D4 MB, Gainward 4090 RTX Graphics, 850W Corsair PSU, Kraken AIO watercooler, Nvme 1TB ssd, 1TB ssd, 500GB ssd.

The new driver seems fine to me, though I did a W11 update, updated my dlss files and framegen mod files at the same time (lucky all is good really as I would have needed to rollback the lot if problems arose).

Couldn't care less.  If you could care less, then you really care.

Sorry to be that absolute jerk, but as a non-American this is the ONLY thing about you guys that gets to me.  😁

Installed, no issues, not noticeably better, not noticeably worse. Will keep. Until the next update.

I’ve still got to figure out how to get this installed. I have 3 gaming rigs and neither of them will allow me to update the drivers or the app. I can’t even uninstall it without it giving an error. Thinking of just deleting the folder on my C drive and using ccleaner to mop up what’s left behind. I only worry I won’t be able to install it even after that.

Hi Everybody,

Looks like Nvidia put out new drivers 572.83 with frame generation modification.

I have used Nvidia cards on all my PC's going back to 2000, this is the first driver that (A) Never installed properly and (B) Black screened when I entered a flight

Thank the Lord that I do not need any of this Frame Generation stuff in MSFS 2020 with my super powerful 2015 specification PC.
