MSFS 2024 New SU2 beta version available (1.4.10.0)

Are you using FSLTL or AIG AI Traffic ? They're known to cause CTDs, and ASOBO is aware of that already and searching for a fix.

For MSFS2024 the setup is virgin with one exception.. the A2A Comanche which worked with no issue since the last two beta versions.

I will probably delete my cache file and see if that fixes it. If not then ill chuck the Comanche and see if that's the issue.

I am getting a great performance and stutter-free experience in this latest SU2 Beta. Dare I say for the first time I enjoyed a Concorde flight more in 2024 today than I have been getting in 2020. Som

It is happening to me, and a multitude of users on the official  forum. If you don't wait for this to get fixed before updating the beta, then you may be sorry. Because reinstalling msfs2024 may not repair this.

I get that but no CTDs, been able to change bindings and they stick after restarting. But yeah there's a fear it'll all end in tears, but that's the risk of partaking in a beta run by people who don't know really know what they're doing themselves half the time!

So, it seems it's another issue just for Store users, people with Steam version (including me) say they don't have this problem.

Getting bad stutters here as well with the latest build. I think it has to do with FG. **I am NOT complaining, just reporting my experience 🙂

Also...Did anyone notice the new setting? THE BEST THING EVAHHH, thank you Asobo!!! What a different this makes.

I corrected your "regional" accent, above 🙂

By the way, the Exposure Value slider is there in VR Graphics options too !

I'm having it, but FS 2024 doesn't crash and I can always get to the controller settings by hiting ESC when I get that screen...

I have managed a lot of software projects over the years, and we did our best to make sure the obvious bugs were caught before releasing anything to the user base. It hurts confidence when something so obvious isn’t caught during internal testing. People are understanding when issues come up, but at least pretend that you ran some testing before releasing it. Otherwise you just look incompetent. Asobo and MS continue to take heat for not doing bare minimum testing. I am really surprised (okay not really) that they haven’t tightened things up yet. Even with a beta. It’s your reputation on the line.

What I've noticed about some folk here is that they've never been in a beta outside of flight simulation, their entire grasp of "how things should run in software development" is based purely off how Asobo do things with MSFS, which in my experience of being in countless gaming/simulation betas over the years is extremely amateurish compared to those others!

Now I do get it when people complain about certain aspects of being in a beta, they should just quit it and return to the public release as clearly they don't understand the process and they're better off not in it.

But on the flip side when I see drastic new issues brought into the Sim (like with the controller issues for example), then yet again it's a question of how is this allowed to release to the public beta when it should've been dealt with internally first?

Again drawing on my decades of experience, I've never experienced beta periods of any game/Sim to be so topsy turvy so to speak!

It's painfully obvious they need a complete restructure of the beta testing process, or they're just happy to use us as guinea pigs to gather background data and rely on poorly scripted bug reports, which is fine for them but not the way I've seen things done properly in the past and by gaming studios half the size of Asobo.

I have been testing closed betas for many years for several top game companies and there was a clear difference between bugs in those closed betas and in the later public betas.

Asobo has a lousy quality control, like many software companies nowadays, this is not new, they have been dragging it since the early days of 2020 and I understand that it is not a matter of lack of resources like other smaller studios might have, they just don't care.

On a positive note i do think progress is being made. Performance is significantly improved in the latest beta, at least with regards to loading times and VRAM usage. Stutters are worse but i can see where this is going. Installing this sim went from an all day adventure in 2020 to maybe 15 minutes in 24, so that is huge. Unfortunately it will continue to be two steps forward, one step back with this team. Patience is a virtue.

Any news on the next Beta? This one works very very well on my end. Aren't they going to eliminate something that will make the performance even better?

This version still has the problem of the sim starting the first session in Free Flight on a runway ready for takeoff but in the overcommitted VRAM situation with single digit FPS.  Shutting the sim down and restarting the EXACT same flight/settings results in FPS greater than 55 and beautiful smooth scenery.  It is totally unpredictable - about 25% of my sessions in this Beta have started with over committed VRAM.
