Have you lowered the texture resolution?

My issue is not with the FPS - it is with the inconsistent performance of the sim. It seems obvious to me that my hardware can deliver 80+ FPS with the settings I currently have because it USUALLY DOES deliver that performance.

WHY - does one session start with 7 FPS and drop to 1 FPS as I taxi and the next, with absolutely no changes other than restarting the sim, I see 100 FPS at session start and 85 FPS taxing toward the runway.

WHY - does the session start with brilliant, crystal clear buildings, trees, mountains and then when I restart the session I see melted buildings, trees that look like granite obelisks, and ground textures that look like running water?  Absolutely no change between sessions.  The "bad" scenery occurs when the FPS at start exceeds 100 and it occurs when the FPS is single digit, as does the "perfect" scenery.  There seems to be no correlation between scenery quality and FPS.

People have opened a complaint thread about bugs in the beta? Bizarre. Everyone in the beta signed up to find and report bugs. It's literally the point of a beta test build. You expect it to be broken

I am getting a great performance and stutter-free experience in this latest SU2 Beta. Dare I say for the first time I enjoyed a Concorde flight more in 2024 today than I have been getting in 2020. Som

The same area is looking much better in MSFS 2020.

Anyone remarked this ?

Two things I've noticed with this beta. Firstly, the ATR has disappeared. Secondly, don't ever start the sim in Safe Mode. If you do you'll have to re enable all of your addons when you start it normally. And this takes an age! Anyone else found these issues?

Keep a backup of your content.xml, then you can just replace it if you have to go the safe mode route.

i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

So had to opt out of Beta and back to SU1.  Beta was giving me frozen FMGC and jetways weren't working properly.  SU1 works perfectly for me.

I'm getting better performance and stability in BETA 2. No more CTD's as there was in BETA 1. The increased stability when entering dense scenery keeps my VR crystal light tracking perfectly, I don't have to use the view reset key.

I decided to fire up 2020 after upgrading to a 9800X3D/5080, and I was blown away by how crisp the textures were. I can now run 2020 on ultra settings, including TLOD 400, in 1440p with fluid frames, and I have to say, the sim is absolutely stunning. Sure, it’s lacking the lighting from 2024, but in terms of textures, 2020 actually looks better.

Yes, I have also seen worsening of textures. All of a sudden the sim often looks quite bland to be honest. Been thinking it could be the servers or something, don't know.

Another thing that happened me yesterday was instrument freeze a couple of hours into a flight. Don't believe I've had that one happen to me before.

There seems to be something with certain building blocks and their textures.

There are other house blocks plus textures that load perfectly.

I will make a thread about it on the SU 2 beta forum.

From 1:50 and upwards you clearly can see the melted houseblocks

( I have not set Vsync / franerate cap etc so so vertical tearing can be seen )

I do not touch PG with a barge pole in MSFS 2020. Cities and towns generally look excellent with autogen buildings, so why take the risk of seeing melted buildings and stone block trees?

By the way, not long ago if you wanted to switch between PG and autogen, you had to restart the sim. This is now apparently no longer necessary.

In MSFS 2020 I do not have those melted PG buildings ….

And there PG was streamed too.

Now i got the sim really working. FPS 150-200 quad motion frames. Base framerate about 30-50. I have RX9070, 64 GB ram, and 5800x3d. This simulator rocks hard, wow what a fluidity. But my vram gets maxxed on some planes, than the stuuterfest starts. woooohoooooo. No melted buildings and good image quality with FSR4 and fluid motion frames enabled.

Perhaps the melted PG buildings are there at specific places, like Amsterdam.

If you find the time, could you ( or anyone else ) try flying at 4000/5000 ft over Amsterdam and share your experience?
