a lot of anger towards PMDG baffles me!!

Featured Replies

I think PMDG will be the saviour of MSFS. A lot of models in the MSFS universe have very inaccurate and unrealistic flight dynamics. Many are really bad. PMDG models are the closest thing to accurately modeling flight dynamics.

How does MSFS even have any cutomers with the likes of X-Plane?  Lighter on graphics but accurate on flight charecteristics.

MSFS 2024 is a hot mess and a lot of users are getting tired of the bugs. MSFS 2020 is yesterdays news\.

I agree that PMDG do build pretty decent aircraft.   However, they have a greedy business model that is not really value for money. This 777 is a fine example.   Anyway I will have

These conversations get so bizarre.  Guys, PMDG makes good products.  Considering it is a sub-$100 digital rendition of an extremely complex aircraft, they make INCREDIBLE products.  It is mind b

Whatever others think, I personally feel that the PMDG 737 is a superb aircraft. There is a reason why I have been flying it almost exclusively since 2014.

The support given to the DC6.....

Just think about it, and I mean really think about it.

I digress. MSFS is an awesome video game.

Agreed. Came here just to say the same.

Meh...maybe, maybe not, but you're right: the end result is the same.

And those who lack self control will always pay more than they need to!

It could just be that since the 200ER was further back in the dev line, and the 300ER already a shipping product, that it was more time-effective to switch the 200ER over to just v2024 since they would have less pressure to "fix" it from v2020 owners.

While admittedly from the outside looking in, I get the impression that PMDG is extremely traditional in their production methodology, and this is why we question the outwardly confusing decisions they make.

E.g., Randazzo finally out and said that the 737 code base is just too old and clunky to bring forward to v2024.

Maybe, maybe not. Probably he wants to take lessons learned and re-facror the 737 or maybe they've already refactored their framework from the 777 dev and need to convert the 737 over for standardization, etc.

I mean, maybe it's just me, but the guy seems to think like a highly experienced airline Captain or something...

Weird because it works 95% of its 2020 form in 2024

I just wanted to add that I flew the PMDG 737-800 for the first time in some time and I thought that it was fantastic - it did every thing I wanted - easy to set up the FMS, etc., straightforward to fly and the VNAV flight path was excellent.

So, no -  don't understand the anger to PMDG either!

I have 4 PMDG products. The DC-6, 737-800, 777-200 and 777-300 and they are all excellent. They do an excellent job amd will really help MSFS 2024 once they get more planes on the platform.

I have the Fenix, the 777 -300 ER, the iFlly 738 M and the PMDG 737-800.  Almost all the time, I wind up flying the 737-800. It does everything well and great FPS.

Actually, I would not say that flight modeling is PMDG's strongest suit in MSFS.  They're not horrible, but far from the best examples.

I'd hold up A2A as the finest example of flight dynamics in any desktop simulator.  For airliners in MSFS, the iFly Max is one of the best, exhibits many better behaviors than the PMDG aircraft.

Again, this is for the sake of discussion and splitting hairs.  The PMDG products are still amazingly good.

While waiting for PMDG to drop on MSFS 2024 I purchased the Fenix 319, 320 & 321. Very impressive features and characteristics, miles above inibuilds. I don't know why inibuilds doesn't model a NAV radio in the 320 because Fenix and Toliss do as this is in the real aircraft.

probably due to the fact  that don't have a 320 at all, they only have 350 and 300 aircraft
