Sim Update 3 Beta 1.5.7.0 / June 13

Featured Replies

I did a short flight from DDs DCA to INIs PVD in the iFly Max using FSHud with AIG and the flight war absolutly great.

Thunderstorm at Washington and bad weather along the route with rain at PVD. The performance was good, exept near JFK where the FPS dropped by 50% due to CPU, but it was smooth during the whole flight.

I think they lowered the resolution of the clouds a bit, but these cloud systems were huge and massive with heavy turbulence at DCA and the clouds near New York looked really impressive. I think it was the first time since the beginning of FS2020 that I saw that kind of weather in the sim.

Ciao Michael

Just made a quick flight with 1.5.7 in marginal VFR in Los Angeles bassin, from KAJO to KSNA and got some stutters with sound cracks when joining the pattern at KSNA. It was smooth on my KAJO Corona scenery. Whereas it was super smooth with the previous Beta.

As expected 😉

I just did a flight from KHMT-KSAN-KSMO and was butter smooth until on the ground at KSMO and a slight tick stutter ever 5sec or so while taxing. But hey, Its a Beta... 🙂

I flew from JFK to  ATL using live weather and traffic.   Stormy out of JFK and low ceiling at ATL.  FPS were fine although dropped by almost half on ATL landing.  I tried a full ILS  autoland at Atlanta and don't  recommend it at this time.

Looking at the screenshots an acquaintance is posting from the Beta, they look the same to me.

Just tested and so far the performance is not as bad as "anticipated". Approaching a large airport and the fps drop is there but easily recovered gradually within seconds. Airport Traffic and Air Traffic both set to LOW + Real Online Traffic. This is subjective of course especially I only fly helicopters (but helicopters are prone to stutters too since it is mostly closer to the ground compared to 30 000 feet flight)

Second test flight. Few minutes ago, around KSFO (Flightbeam) with the Just Flight PA28 Warrior. AIG injected +600 aircraft 😉. Performance were great certainly with the help of MSFS_AutoFPS that help having a steady 60 fps. My VRAM jumped to a 13GB (5070ti with 16GB). Hope it sent data to devs.

Reading comprehension seems to be dying skill these days.

In all fairness, I reacted to a part of a post that stood out to me regarding 'further reducing performance'. I had not read the release notes at time of my post, if I had done, my post would have been more measured.

Nothing wrong with my reading comprehension.

This has been a big issue for me and many others and the first time the developers have even mentioned they're working on it, even though the bug was 'logged' back in SU2 beta. SU2 was released containing the bug, so I can't escape it until it''s fixed.

There seems to be a lot of people here with strong opinions of their own but quite condescending when others voice theirs.
