Maybe because not all developers working on an update are programmers and different tasks are assigned to different people. As a result someone from the art department had time to fix the opacity.

You act as if they all have to work on one issue at a time...

I don't 'act' like anything.

My belief is, that the show stopper bugs should take the highest priority.

Thank you for the clarification that bugs are worked on in parallel.

Also having to disable default streamed airports every session if you have an add on replacement for said airfield, in SU3 beta, at least.

I'm proper tired of this nonense.

I know it's a beta, but even if I go back to SU2, the terrible performance at larger airports is a regressive issue

you're all supposed to be testing, not using it as your main platform 😄

i mean, you're welcome to do so, but it's a testing release, not early access to the newest, coolest version of a game

For the first time, I have this cracking sounds accompanied by very brief pauses as if the sim would CTD. Not severe but definitely non existent in the previous versions.

FPS is a bit heavy but not really concerning.

I did KJAX to KHOU last night in the iFly 737 Max, performed great.

Though I do not have custom scenery for either airport.

Ok call me crazy but it kinda looks like clouds lost a little crispness to me too. No where near as bad as I feared, thankfully. I also think the clouds got a lot more verticality to them.

That's right. I know it's a beta and we are testing it to find bugs.

I found a bug whereby streamed airports have to be disabled every session, which I voiced?

I'm not seeing a reason for the lecture?

Avsim. That is the reason.

Well banter aside....does the latest beta improve performance near airports? Mine has not downloaded yet

God, I hope not. I’d just started to feel they were going in the right direction at last with clouds in 2024.

edit: the beta hasn’t messed with your settings at all?

In fact, the dev stated there might be potentially performance degradation near large airports, so they can narrow down the issues.

Please tell me it's not as bad as the ones in XP12!

Taken from the latest beta.  Are you really saying this is bad?  I can't fault the lighting or the clouds.

Yesterday while getting ready to go to bed I made a clean install of MSFS 2024 with this latest beta, a process that takes not more than half an hour including the change of the Packages and rolling cache to a different folder from the original, setting FPS limit to 30 and disabling the lousy Beechcraft B350i he which comes by default with FS 2024 Standard and enabling the FS 2020 version plus a couple of mods suggested here at the forum.

Most of my "cloud" settings were preserved.

I look forward to check if I can finally redefine controller settings including renaming, copying, etc...

So it seems to me as well. On the upside the ground textures are much crisper.
