Sim Update 3 Beta 1.5.7.0 / June 13

They added "performance logging" to the first SU2 beta then removed it, the poor performance remained thereafter. So whenever they talk about a reduction because of logging data I'm extremely cautious about their actual planning of the issues, they say a lot but seemingly don't do a lot in this area.

So it'll be interesting to see if they actually get a hold of this severe issue this time around, or just end up releasing SU3 to the public regardless, like they did last time.

Taken from the latest beta.  Are you really saying this is bad?  I can't fault the lighting or the clouds.

That's a really, really nice screenshot. I'm hard pressed to distinguish it from real life. Thing is tho, that I'm watching FD2S livestream the latest XP12 beta and the very blurry clouds at close range are very much present and his clouds look nothing like your screenshot.

Maybe his clouds are different. Maybe his resolution needs to be upped. Is he running the latest beta?
I don't get clouds like that all the time, but I thought I’d pump up the settings to show how they CAN look.

Happy to post another screenshot, although I'm not sure if screenshots of X-Plane would be welcomed here.  I only posted that one to show you.

I think my problem goes back to the time that whenever I wanted to make a tiny assignment change, MSFS wouldn't save it unless I created a NEW profile - even though I was editing a custom profile saved earlier. The result was that I now have many totally useless/redundant profiles that I can't get rid of. Worse still - with the recently introduced delay in selecting different profiles, stepping through all of them to [finally] arrive at the correct one takes *ages*.

I have throttle, stick and rudders - and fly with many different types of aircraft (airliners, props, warbirds - single to 4-engines) - so I really do need to have aircraft-specific profiles.

Try FSUIPC7.

The 2022 article https://www.sciencing.com/6-steps-clouds-formed-11367412/ your photo is from does a really good job of explaining how clouds are formed. And Anna Brothankova did a really great job capturing the photo of the real life clouds that have absolutely nothing to do with X-Plane 12! You upped the resolution alright because nothing beats reallife80p

I'm sure the people who liked your post also knew it didn't come from X-Plane 12 too.

Avsim. That is the reason.

😆yeah, whatever

he said, if you're running SU3, you have to disable streamed airports

that's not "reporting a bug", it's whining because something is not working in a beta

That's really embarassing that some people would use a photo from a science magazine article from 2022 to try to fool people into thinking it's XP 12 clouds from the latest XP 12 beta. If it was deliberate, then it comes across as dishonest and deceitful. SMH.

For me after the update my cockpit camera next instrument view/previous instrument view is not working.  I map those to my hat switch to quickly move from one instrument view to the next, say airspeed to GPS and back again.  I have been using the same mappings since almost day one in MSFS 2020 and the same bindings have worked flawlessly in 2024 until update 1.5.7.0.  Now it only works as far as the first instrument view.  When you try to go to the next view the camera shakes and wiggles and resets back to default.

Anyone else?  TIA,

Don't participate in the Beta's then!

Things get fixed and other things break.

Just how beta's are.

Didn’t ask you about beta participation.  Asked about next/previous instrument view. Your feedback is not helpful, and come to think of it…neither are you.

Thanks - I *do* use FSUIPC (which I really like) and also Axis & Ohs ... so using profiles outside MSFS isn't so much of a problem. However - I need to reset all my MSFS profiles (per aircraft) back to default profiles - and this is difficult/time consuming as I can't get rid of the superfluous garbage profiles.

You are using a "Beta" update.

You don't think that can break things?

Your "nerfed" camera whatever that seems to mean may very well be broken due to a beta update.

Just trying to point out something that could indeed be causing your problem.
