FlightFX is a mid/lower-tier developer, so I'm not expecting much.

I still remember the excitement surrounding the release of Eaglesoft's Citation X.......

The days of high-end/"study-level" biz jet addon developers seem long gone.

I remember how embarrassing awful Eaglesoft bizjets were and how egotistical they were as developers. We've all come such a long way since then, thank goodness.

Don't buy this one Ricardo, it's not for you.

The Longitude does many of the things that the CL650 does, it just doesn't have study screens to show how the sausage is made. For example, the hydraulics system uses a physics based flow system

How were the developers "egotistical"?

I owned almost all of their stuff for FS9 - to be sure, graphics weren't their strong suit. Which they themselves admitted.

Eaglesoft then fell into some kind of black hole and pretty much disappeared.

If anyone wants a nostalgic trip back, I suggest FSMania's youtube channel.

Their support was diabolical and if you questioned them on anything at all they took great offence. I remember it well. Their skills were definitely limited but they probably did quite well for a few years, mainly due to lack of competition.

To be fair, it's a $30 plane and I haven't heard of a single thing that it does that the default Longitude doesn't simulate. What makes this special?

Funny, I was talking to John Kluenker about that and he had nothing but good things to say about their CX v2. Their version 1 of the CJ1 & CX were also "decent" for the era that they were made. As for there support though, it actually ranged from abysmal to fantastic, I had massive arguments with them on this forum about the abysmal side of it. But then on the other hand I had Ed dial into my PC so I could show him an issue which was then patched PDQ.

Mostly moot now though as even though they pop up occasionally I very much doubt we will ever see anything useful released from them again.

Are we seriously putting cutting edge MSFS tech and visuals of FlightFX products, and the terrible looking low quality 16 bit graphic visuals of Eaglesoft products in the same paragraph?

Eaglesoft products were horrible looking for 20 year old FSX tech standards even. That Citation X interior looked like a terrible copy paste repaint of the default Learjet 45 interior texture components.

This was not a "high end" product in FSX by any means in 2019. Even Carenado were leaps and bounds ahead in visual quality by then.

FlightFX please release this beauty already so we can move on and finally clean our ears of this gunk being spewed in this thread

We are ready to move forward with evolution and are tired of the nonsense going on in here.

Please release soon thanks!😂

Visually (v2) the original textures were pretty bad (at best), when they updated them they improved a little, but were never up to Carenado standards - then again that is the one thing that Carenado were good at for the time. However, the ESDG version, unlike anything Carenado ever made, actually had decent systems - hence how it got looked at as high end. There was no business jet in it's league systems wise at the time until WT in MSFS .. .. (or HotStart in XP).
