Let dogs bark. I mean people crying foul over a delay on the internete are the easiest to simply ignore.

The Longitude does many of the things that the CL650 does, it just doesn't have study screens to show how the sausage is made. For example, the hydraulics system uses a physics based flow system

You know… there’s a possibility that there’s a personal matter among the devs, a dead relative, a sick relative etc etc where they felt it necessary to take time off. No one is owed that explanation.

it doesn’t always have to be a conspiracy or something related to Asobo.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Some ppl need to relax a little. It’s a video game after all.

There's definitely something going on behind the scenes with this one. It's been coming soon for about a year now and the day before it finally releases, it's gets delayed for another 2 weeks. They even had streamers lined up to showcase it. If one or two of the devs are experiencing personal issues, I certainly wish them well. But, I just find it all a little strange.

Just my speculation....

The final polished product was submitted to Marketplace a while back and they were given a vetting completion time AROUND July 10th.

MS/Asobo are making changes around product pipelines due to final last minute SU3/SU16 implementation/ optimizations.

This plane gets caught in that particular pipeline of MS/Asobo delays.

Waiting until the 22nd isn't big deal to me, I'm more worried about SU16 breaking stuff in my beautiful 2020 build.😅

The delay being related to ensuring to comes out at the same time as SU3 seems a very plausible explanation to me.

Haha this.  It's a big reason why I avoid watching streamers.  There's a very small number of people I do like to watch though... but they don't do this stuff.

My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL |
| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

I see both sides of the streamer thing.  On one hand, it is good to see someone "kick the tires" so to speak.  However, sometimes streamers get escalated to being experts, while many are barely reading the manual and are evaluating a plane they simply don't know how to fly.

Another annoyance is that those pre-release copies can be earlier builds, so there might be bugs that have already been fixed, but also, bugs that more recently cropped up.  Essentially them evaluating a different version isn't all that useful.  This is a common problem in video games, not just flight sim.  We buy something launch day that has bugs that weren't in the version the streamer evaluated.

This is why I just rarely buy things on launch day.  Things usually launch on a weekday anyway and I rarely have time to put time into them.  An ounce of patience has saved me a lot of launch day headaches (including MSFS 2024).  Honestly I think one of the reasons I have a better view of 2024 is that I did not jump in right away.

There was a discussion in Discord regarding SU3. They ensured everyone asking that even if SU3 caused issues with the FS2024 version, the FS2020 version would be unaffected and would be released regardless.

OTOH, I'm rarely a Day 1 buyer, so I like a preview of an addon I'm considering getting.

But I agree entirely with your point. 👍

I used 3 brain cells to figure out the delay is due to the SU3 delay.  Sheesh

... also who has 4 hours to watch someone else fly? Normally when I try and watch I end up facepalming and giving up within the first few minutes.

Keep track of what I have purchased since MSFS came out and there is only one aircraft that was a mistake (for me), the rest are all still in use (or I've had my money's worth and they are hangered for one reason or another). If I was mug enough to believe the hype that some of the streamers try and generate I'd probably have a lot more.

As for the Citation X, pretty disappointing it was delayed just as it was due to come out

Well, this happens pretty much all the time, doesn't it? I got up this morning and said to myself "Let's go read about the delay..."

I somehow just KNEW there would be an announcement waiting for me...

Oh well, I'll just go fly the X in X-Plane...

What I still don't understand is why no high end developer is bringing something comparable to the Hotstart Challenger 650 to the addon market.
