Might as well keep flying the default CJ4, the default Citation Longitude, and the default Cirrus Vision Jet.

The X however can be used for longhauls, whereas the existing bizzjets can't.

The Longitude does many of the things that the CL650 does, it just doesn't have study screens to show how the sausage is made. For example, the hydraulics system uses a physics based flow system

?

Longitude beats out both the original Citation X and the X+ version when it comes to range.

Does it? Hmm, I thought I checked the range of the Longitude in the sim and was not able to make an atlantic crossing in it.

Yawn, not seeing anything interesting here. We already have the Citation Longitude.

Give me a Falcon 8X (range 6,000 miles +), and I'll be interested.

Not the 8X, but it is a Falcon coming to the sim.

3500 nautical - it was designed to handle trans-Atlantic flight and similar.

Only MP is a big turn off. Will never ever again buy MP. Devs that only sell on MP is not in my interest anymore.

I basically choose the least expensive option after waiting for a sale.

That has increasingly led me to MP purchases, and resulted in several developers getting my money when they might not have otherwise gotten any from me.

Other than the delayed availability of the 2024 MP, I haven't had a single issue with any of those purchases.

100%.  My absolute preference would be for ALL addons to come thru the MP.  Not possible or practical but in terms of KISS, yep.

Seriously? Is Marketplace still not available in 2024? Is so then good grief.

If they could fix the backlog issues, sure. It still takes, what, 3-4 weeks for a patch pushed through the MP to actually hit sims? So many airplanes out there with patches but "gotta wait 2 to forever weeks for the Marketplace"

Huh...? It's been available for several months now.

Try to get a receipt for your purchase if you think the MP is so great.

My long history in this has shown repeatedly that by the time a title is released it's in very decent shape.  Often when a patch comes, I could not tell you what it affected w/o reading change log would likely not notice anything.  IOW, the urgency of getting a patch installed quicker is just not relevant for me.  What is relevant is having to download and install various proprietary installers.  This makes system reinstalls drastically more laborious over having all in the Market.  And I love the fact I immediately know when any update is available and DL it right then and there BEFORE launching into a flight.  Plus, and this matters a whole lot to me:   i want to see MSFS survive and prosper so the more $$ MS pulls in the better.  That's one-sided I see as it leaves devs with less but then again they can avoid having their own storefront which is not free as it were.

I have receipts for major purchases, not 3rd party content IOW, at least I think that's what's happening.  I can log into my MS account and see purchases but as you know even with an order # and price does not state what the item was.  As far as the MP being great, it has its issues for sure but the concept of one-stop shopping is very attractive to me.

My bad, what I meant was an itemize receipt stating what was purchased form the MP.

Simbol, the owner of FSReborn I think, who has made several planes for MSFS already, also only sells on the marketplace.  And Simbol mentioned one reason he only sells on the MSFS marketplace is because of the protection from piracy.  His products have been pirated in the past, resulting in a loss of money for him.  And he needs to pay for his bills, feed his family, etc.

The MSFS marketplace has encryption techniques to prevent products from being pirated. Now it may not be a perfect encryption system, and some marketplace products may still be pirated, but Simbol thought it is good enough to protect his MSFS products from widespread piracy.  And his livelihood is at stake here, as it's his main income, and he  has to pay for bills and put food on the table for his family.

So sometimes, it's just the best option for 3rd party developers like Simbol, to sell on the MSFS marketplace.

The encryption on the 2020 marketplace was broken almost immediately and quite possible offered significantly less protection than that on third party stores.

But it's a Devs choice where to sell a product just as it's a buyers choice where to spend their money.
