Is there any supplied configurator that can be used to adjust scenery complexity included? I.e. if airline ground objects or roadside objects can be enabled/disabled

Don't worry. The very next review i read mentioned a configurator is included, so question answered.

One thing they can do is just release it on marketplace. I hate marketplace but getting sceneries from there isn’t the WORST in the world. They’ll have their precious encryption without the need to lo

I have reduced the file for a lot of textures without compromise the visual in this performance update that is coming very soon. For sure will help. Regards, Matteo

They just lost me forever. Orbx can now go pound sand. I would have paid $100 for this but now they’ve lost me as a customer.

Never liked BBQ. We’d occasionally go to Hapeville for Chinese or jambalaya.

Do you have photogrammetry on or off?

I don't have the scenery, but I know some airports are affected by it.

Yes, there are some settings in the Orbx configuration page.

Even with TLOD 40 in 2k I have a message that GPU resources are exceeding....well, it's time to GoFundMe for 5090 :-)

Try removing Nool VDGS, a user on the AIG discord said they did that and their performance improved.

Nool is active almost all the time, and even works with AI aircraft, so it can eat resources like crazy.

Damning performance if true that it works for Ai. Lol.

Yeah my performance is just ok with a 4090. Going to turn off moving vehicles (they shouldn’t be crossing a live taxi way when an aircraft is approaching anyways) and possibly the animated rampers when I get home from work.

Other than that it’s a great scenery made better by the fact that they listened to us.

Pretty big hit, but ok on my system. Still in the 60 to 70 range. Did not really get any stutters except outside the plane.

What does 3d passengers mean in the Config file on Orbx

so far I find it's beautiful. Very well done.

The bad:

-Performance isn't great. Lots of mini stutters.

-Bumpy terrain when trying to taxi in various parts of the airport

-Forgot the little triangular gate number signs on top of the jetways like the airport has in real life.

Was looking out for your mini review.

Is there a way to disable stuff (Internal features for example) to improve performance ?

I don't see an option to turn off moving vehicles

I got it. Performance is amazing in my rig.

Have you flown an approach into the airport yet? I did an initial load at the airport just to look around and performance was acceptable for me. I did a flight into KATL afterwards in the FSR Phenom and the approach was a stutter-fest through landing. I use Dynamic LOD so I was stepped down to TLOD of 80 on short final and on the ground.... Even taxiing was pretty bad. I did have PSXT running but even after shutting it off post landing it was a struggle. I got the GPU resource box popping too. I kind of figured this might be the case. It's just too much detail on a huge airport. I had all the detail options turned off in the config and also had the VDGS disabled. It does look very nice, he did a great job on it but this needs a lot of optimization or I need it to be the year 2035 really quick so I have a PC that can handle it. I'll do a few more tests but not sure if I will be able to keep this installed....unfortunately...

Hello, i am matteo veneziani the dev of orbx-katl. I am here because i am reading some of you are experiencing some performance issue meanwhile is smooth for other. I am here just to help and to find a solution that may solve your issue. If you are experiencing stutters, first of all i can say that is not normal. It might be to a incorrect/ too high setting of the simulator. I strongly suggest to try with this setting.

GOOD PC

-Anti-aliasing: i use NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution ( not sure if is the same for all this option )

-NVIDIA DLSS super resolution: set to " performance "

-TLOD: 250

-OLD: 150

-Texture Resolution: Ultra

-Anisotropic Filtering: 16x

-Shadows maps: 1024

-Terrain shadows: 512

-Contact shadows: Ultra

LOW PC

-Anti-aliasing: i use NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution ( not sure if is the same for all this option )

-NVIDIA DLSS super resolution: set to " performance "

-TLOD: 150

-OLD: 100

-Texture Resolution: High

-Anisotropic Filtering: 2x

-Shadows maps: 768

-Terrain shadows: off/128

-Contact shadows: low

Based on my test and over dozen of tester looks like what impact the performance much more is antialiasing setting, TLOD and shadows maps/terrain shadows.

Katl should run good. I hope i have helped you to enjoy this scenery has it should!

Best regards,

Matteo

Hello @Matteoveneziani

Congrats on your latest release.

I'm looking forward to trying KATL when it's released at the marketplace. I hope that by then, performance has been optimized for lower-end systems like mine.

It's odd because this is the first time I read that AF @16 could cause a performance issues in MSFS v2020 or v2024. The only two that I know can cause stutters and micro pauses, are TLOD & OLD. I use AutoFPS and it does a good job controlling those two important settings especially when approaching a major airport.

The other import setting, and this one can cause Vram exhaustion, is Texture resolution. I run mine at medium and I can't really tell the difference in v2024. But, it can be detrimental to system performance.

Best regards.

Jose
