Just run the Fenix installer, you'll see an update. The livery manager has also been moved into that app, no more standalone. First impressions are - it's a whole new aircraft! The textures and sounds are on another level. It hand flies beautifully (and very differently to the previous version, landing will take some getting used to now...). The only thing I found that is still broken is photo mode - it still shows the wings in a weird upward position.
July 28, 2025Jul 28 Fenix.... never change. Months of silence, then a video that speaks of a release on Tues- or Wednesday and then release one day earlier on a Monday. That's how it's done. 👏 Unless you are PMDG, then you build up hype for months, speak of nearing beta and 9 months later still have not released a thing... 😆

A new record?
July 28, 2025Jul 28 Looks and sounds and peformance is great and VRAM usage (in MSFS24) is down an appreciable amount, however, none of the seven segment displays work and I can't turn on the EFB to change that (I think the video said something about that being an option depending on your screen resolution?) so mixed bag for me, will try to reinstall

I mean, those were great updates, but this constant narrative in every thread "Fenix=GOAT and PMDG=bad" is so childish. But sure, that's how it's done.
July 28, 2025Jul 28 They are in a different league to Inibuilds. Real pros. The complete opposite to inibuilds.
July 28, 2025Jul 28 I love the new integrated livery manager where nerds like me who try to fly the correct aircraft on the real world route can search for the registration and install accordingly if available. BTW does anyone know if one can delete the folders of the default Fenix liveries without breaking anything? I seem to remember add ons in the past where you could not delete the default livery without deleting dependencies of the other liveries.

I gues it has to do with the different way they communicate. Fenix gave estimates for releases, failed to deliver and then just shut up and went to work until they were almost ready to release. RR of PMDG likes to constantly post long update posts that virtually lead nowhere. They have not learned how to estimate releases properly in 15 years. None of their aircraft came out on time. Neither did the Fenix Updates, but they at least learned their lesson and kept it to themselves instead of repeatedly boasting about how well Beta went and then having to backpedal because they ran into issues.
