  • It is an interesting and infinite topic, really. I will share from my context about our work, but I am obviously a biased entity, so please take that into account with what I say and consider it on th

  • Fenix.... never change.   Months of silence, then a video that speaks of a release on Tues- or Wednesday and then release one day earlier on a Monday.   That's how it's done. 👏

  • Winwing have updated Simapppro, FCU and MCDU now working.

What's so awful about it, other than it not supporting the backlighting? Just set it up according to the instructions, download a profile, apply it and go.

I use the MCDU with all the other aircraft that have a FMC and it works fine on most of them.

Whereas WinWing does not support other aircraft natively and you can't use the MCDU with let's say the 737 out of the box. So I'd say Mobiflight is superiour in some regards.

They are in a different league to Inibuilds. Real pros.

The complete opposite to inibuilds.

inibuilds are pros too. Not a the same level, but hardly the 'complete opposite'.

You can praise one thing without putting another down.

Based upon scale and size a four month slip ain’t t be unexpected at all. How’s those 737 updates working for you?  Not the iFly. The “the other guys”.

Why are you treating them like Voldemort😂. I’m just calling out the double standards that’s all. We all remember “2 weeks to 2 months” yet people lost their minds. Anyways not to derail the thread congrats to Aamir and the rest of the Fenix team on the bfu release.

As an purchaser of EVERY PMDG product EVER produced I’m just making sure folks know that it ain’t just Fenix.

Only had 1 issue with Winwing, submit a ticket and they had a new build the next day.

I don't have the Airbus units from them but would advise that people don't assume Winwing is aware and working on it unless they have said something to that affect and submit a ticket.

Have a Wonderful Day

For me using MSFS2024 the build number for the release is V2.4.0.1986. The number 1986 stood out to me (80's babies) and I did a little search. Some notable things about year 1986 for Airbus:

  • The A330 and 340 programs were approved by the supervisory board.
  • Northwest airlines made a deal to purchase A320 aircraft (Northwest being traditionally a Boeing customer)
  • Airbus predecessor companies began work on the Eurofighter.
  • Twinjet ETOPS rules were upped from 60min to 120min which benefitted the A300 and the to be developed A330.

Not saying it was intentional, but still pretty fun to see. Thank to the Fenix team for a great aircraft set.

First flight screens went black, heard sound had to do a hard reboot of computer.  Not a good start but will try again.

Yep. Saw someone had suggested a Mobiflight profile.  Haven’t tried it yet, nor this one but since variety is the spice of life…another one to try

EDIT:  Tried this one first.  Seems to work exactly like and as well as SimApp Pro  YMMV  TANSTAAFL

BFU, after first quick flight:

  • noticeably better performance (MSFS 2024)
  • hand flying feels so great now
  • ground behaviour, incl. T/O and LND, much much better
  • the sounds!

I think once we get chaseplane into 24 I’ll make the switch permanently!

Resolved my earlier problem with seven segment displays not showing by a reinstall, now the issue appears to be PFD/ND/ECAM is really stuttery. Making it hard to fly smoothly as the PFD is playing catch up with my controls inputs and as the aircraft banks and turns the ND is cranking 'round to the new heading, lost all smoothness in the displays. I have had the 'use alternate display renderer' and 'prefer CPU rendering' ticked/checked for all previous versions of the Fenix A320, might have to try them unticked and reload the sim. Performance really good as is VRAM usage for my 8gb card so no complaints in any other regard.

Same - it's the only thing holding me back.
