So, your main gripe is really that you don't have the money to properly migrate to a more capable sim platform with all the add-ons you want? I can empathise with that, been there in the past.  B

  • Never looked back? Then you might be lost if you are reading/posting in this MSFS forum. Let me help you guide you to where you probably prefer to hang out Link

  • I just want people to be aware that there are other excellent simulators out there.... especially for the OP.... maybe he's happy using FSX or P3D...  But 2020 is great, same with 2024, and also same

Bob, there isn't a single addon I used in 2020 which doesn't work in 2024. Not one. My 2024 Community folder is 106GB. Do you want me to list them? And I haven't had to pay to upgrade any of them.

Do you have the two below working in MSFS 2024? Both were purchased from MSFS 2020 Marketplace.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

Please, stop with this nonsense.  ALL of my many addons works fine save PMDG's 738 including 3rd party utilities designed to work w/ 2020 like SLC, GSX, BATC, APL etc.

Do you have these addons?  These MSFS 2020 addons are for some reason disabled for me in MSFS 2024...spacer.png

I think there’s a thread like this every few days.

And every time a new simulator version comes along.

I remember it from the 2D Panel afficionados who detested the idea of going to FSX, because it no longer had them and stayed with FS9.

Then People asking whether add on x will be ported over, then moaning about add on developers eventually abandoning the older version.

It's a never ending cycle.

I can absolutely attest that the FSR500 is and has been 100% compatible in MSFS2024 from day 1.

Thank you for that info. Did you have to manually convert or install it to get it to work?

Too realistic for you? 😁

IIRC, this is MS MarketPlace only, so it was available in My Library as soon as the game was finished installing. Didn't need to do a thing other than wait for it to stream in the first time (which took maybe 3 mins).

Other than this one in particular, I kinda forget which ones did which. If it was a 3PD like Just Flight, then I could install it where ever I wanted.

Or if it was something like the BS Turbine Duke that I bought thru MS MarketPlace 2020, I did a Copy/Paste from v2020 to v2024 and all was good.

I said this somewhere else recently, but since you have Raul's ear, let him know that I would absolutely give him more cash if he'd find a way to release an FSR 700 Fury 💰😁💰

And thank him profusely for ensuring the current FSR 500 was available on v2024's launch day - really made it a pleasure to have a Hi Fi addon immediately available 🙂

oh...come to think of it: @simbol!

And ask about the center console keypad too.

Just stay on 2020. There’s no requirement or need to upgrade. You won’t ever be forced off 2020 and on to 2024. Enjoy the aircraft and airports you have on 2020 for the foreseeable future. MS need to convince you to upgrade which they clearly have not done. So decide with your wallet.

I can't even begin to list the things I didn't like about it, but as soon as I deleted the demo from my PC and took a couple of Tylenol, I felt better.
