September 25, 2025Sep 25 So looking at the video, is this more a POI update? No mesh or airport upgrades? Cheers Steve Hall

Wow, flew over the Tokyo area after the update, and have to say the PG looks remarkable. Good job on MS/Asobo and maybe no need to further enhance this scenery. September 25, 2025Sep 25 A quick question, for MSFS 2024, do I need to download this update, or it will be automatically streamed when I fly over Japan? I thought in MSFS2024 sceneries are by default streamed, but I'm a bit confused. Edited September 25, 2025Sep 25 by FlyIce 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

Once you have purchased it, it then streams as you fly. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

Yay!) PG is very good, and astonishingly big! They've pretty much covered the whole Kanto plain. Japanese cities should do well in PG as there are very few curves, all straight lines. Tokyo PG looks to be a couple of years old (going on some buildings in Nihonbashi that are no longer there), and still a bit too grey for my liking (no AI-enhanced colours MS?!), but overall really impressive. Haven't checked the other areas yet, but have some cancelled meetings today so will hopefully get round to that later. I'm pretty sure aerials have been updated, at least in some of the mountain areas in Kyushu that are outside any PG/Tin improvement areas. I plan to do a complete low and slow Japan tour again now to see how wide ranging these are. Haven't checked POIs yet, but first impressions are VERY positive about this WU. With @Reset XPDR's quite literally game-changing autoFPS app, and the recent sharpening hacks, it's quite easy to push LODs out to 900 and have crisp textures everywhere, and from what I've seen so far, Japan looks very real indeed. TBH I'm not sure I'd recommend SamScene's Tokyo anymore. Actually this guy does an amazing job of updating lots of Japanese cities, especially Tokyo and Yokohama. They demolish and rebuild over here with gusto, and he actually updates big building models while they're being constructed so you can see their progress! https://msfs-p3d.sakura.ne.jp/index.html May revisit this post when I've completed a tour! i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

September 26, 2025Sep 26 The Marketplace entry for this update, or any other update, indicates a space requirement of 8.96 GB. I am assuming this space is needed if this update is installed instead of being streamed with the default being "streamed" when "purchasing". Is my assumption correct ? zachlog

Today we have a sim that is giving us the world (most of it anyway) as it is in real life for free, and we dare to complain. 😏 Totally agree, You'd almost think we are forced to pay for the World Updates. Some people are just beyond miserable mate. Jase

Jase Why some people judging things based if they are free or not ? So if its free we are not entitled to have an opinion and discuss it in a forum ? Why you cant respect people's other than yours opinion about MS/Asobo choice of region updates ? And this is even before you called us miserable... I swear some people....
