That's standard business practice that many companies that have these kinds of subscriptions have. They count on the customers forgetting.

That's why I always cancel a monthly subscription one minute after I activated it, so that I don't forget.

Smart. You just reminded me not to forget to end my Monthly. 8 days left.

Wait - if you cancel your subscription you can't use the same email address to resubscribe? Or is that only applicable when entirely deleting an account?

yep this confuses me as well so if you cancel your monthly  subscriptions  than you need to subscribe again for another monthly  subs?

Only for completely deleting your account. I have popped in and out of monthly before doing an annual. Everything carries over. The only time you get that message is when you choose COMPLETELY DELETE your account. They say it is to prevent abusing the 24 hour free trial.

I’ve let my sub lapse multiple times - it must be due to data deletion request. My guess is it probably has something to do with APIs and their voice synth engine (probably eleven labs, based on age of the product)

it’s probably an issue with a downstream vendor

ah - to be fair that makes complete sense from that perspective.

I only deleted it totally because their spam annoyed me. Unsubscribing did nothing, Brian just creates a new list and mails you direct again.

I have deleted my account , so now there’s no excuse to email me. If I get more emails, I will see what remedies are available under the various anti-spam laws.

Also no, this doesn’t make sense. You can easily (and many companies I’ve used have done this) just mark that this email address has used the free trial already.

This is how all free trials work … you try it again and the site/software tells you that you have used it and can’t get it again.

You most definitely don’t need to block a customers email address. That’s terribly bad and makes it clear that this company doesn’t expect to be around long enough for former customers to return (say, after hearing things have improved.). Bye bye to them.

I can confirm what @qqwertzsaid.

I unsubscribed from the mailing list and still get emails.

This is unacceptable.

Yep. Just got another one today, blocking them didn't work. To quote Microsoft Outlook help desk from the web): "when emails are in the spam folder, they are considered blocked" 😄

I marked his mails as spam now. We'll see if that puts an end to it.

I got another one and went ballistic. Went to the discord and got it sorted. And their help was the most snarky teenage replay. I’ll post screen shots later.
